We seek a Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the Genoa mental health and specialty pharmacy primarily through dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties while under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5:30m (Lunch 12:30pm - 1pm)

Primary Responsibilities:
Provides exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
Orders, receives and stores incoming pharmacy supplies
Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders
Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
Performs various clerical duties relating to the department
Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
Other duties as assigned

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The pharmacy technician assists in providing pharmacy services to White House Clinic patients under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Assist in dispensing of prescriptions by compounding, mixing suspensions, counting medication or pouring liquids under the pharmacist's direct supervision.
Being familiar with medical terminology.
Checks all prescriptions at drop off for completeness, verifies patient information and verifies a patient's date of birth is on the prescription.
Enters patient data if patient is new to the pharmacy or updates any changes in a patient's demographic in the computer system.
Enters prescription information into pharmacy system.
Prepares prescription labels.
Assists with filing.
Assist with inventory control of medications and supplies.
Aids in ordering supplies and medications.
Receives and shelves medications.
Checks regularly for outdated medications.
Provides non-drug information to patients and answers simple inquires.
Operates cash register, preforms transaction and gives patient proper receipts.
Cleans pharmacy equipment, utensils and work area.
Assists financial counselor/enabling services in ordering medication for indigent drug program.
Attends required meetings and participates in meetings as requested.
Participates in staff development and educational activities.
Performs related work as required.
Assist with other duties or in other departments as instructed by supervisor.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Work Experience: Minimum 1 year pharmacy experience is preferred.

Qualifications
Position requires knowledge of pharmaceutical and related medical technology, metric and apothecary system of weights and measurements. It also requires knowledge in medical safety standards to assist in working with pharmaceutical substances, prescription drugs and the dispensing function to check for correctness. Employee must possess skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret prescription information, understand and follow oral and written instructions, perform basic calculations and communicate clearly.

Update expiration dates in computer software daily.
Order prescription medications, labels, and supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, check for outdated medications in current inventory, and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages.
Complete inventory counts before lunch and before pickup in the afternoon.
Problem solves inventory count issues.
Keep workspace and common pharmacy areas clean.
Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.
Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
Maintains compliance with AdaptHealth's Compliance Program.

Responsibilities:
* Assess the identity, strength and purity of medications.
* Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, ascertain the needed ingredients, and evaluate their suitability.
* Compound and dispense medications following prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized medical practitioners.
* Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage.
* Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
* Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
