QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
Pharmacy TechnicianCertification (CPhT) or ExCPT Pharmacy Technician - National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Incumbents in role as of July 1, 2022 must achieve CPhT by 1/1/2024.
Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or 1 year equivalent experience in lieu of formal training program.
Preferred
1 year of pharmacy experience in respective area.

Operates electric or manual pallet jack to move product and pallets throughout the facility's shipping/receiving area.

Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, you will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. Many of your duties will include:
Prepare prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval
Draw doses into either a syringe or vial
Perform quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines
Receive, document, and store incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines
Maintain computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for Rx drugs
Assist and/or perform in the labeling of blood cell products
Perform general laboratory and facility clean up
May perform clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily records, preparation of receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records
Make deliveries to accounts with company vehicles as needed
Speak with customers and address questions and/or concerns via telephone
Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy. Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
State Pharmacy Technician license or national pharmacy technician registration/license required
Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Technician is highly preferred.
Past IV experience is a plus
Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs required
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Strong customer service skills required
Flexibility to work various shifts is preferred
Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks is required

Pascagoula Hospital | Part-Time | Days | Pascagoula, Mississippi United States The Pharmacy Technician, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensures patients receive the correct medication; packages and labels medication doses; fills routine orders for stock supplies to patient care areas; and assists in all aspects of IV admixture preparation and delivery. He/She complies with the standards, ethics, laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy, including the MS Board of Pharmacy and the Accreditation Agency standards.
Expectation is for all performed duties to be in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation organization, and governing guidance and publications for health care employees.

Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.
License:
Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician by the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy.
Certifications:
Must possess a valid Pharmacy Technician Registration from the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy.
Experience:
Experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.

Pharmacy Director, Pharmacy Operations Manager, and Pharmacy Technician Supervisor

Physical Demands:
Stands, turns, bends, stoops, lifts, climbs, and uses many physical motions in performing day-to-day activities. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and do a great deal of walking without experiencing undue fatigue.
Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, with or without correction. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate, speak, and enunciate to express/exchange ideas and detailed information in person and on the telephone. Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity, with or without correction, with the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms that are closer to compare data at close vision.
Must be able to work for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue. Must be able to work flexible hours.

Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities. Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Special Demands:

* Assists in maintaining proper supplies for filling all orders accurately and in a timely manner.
* Makes deliveries to patients at bedside ensuring customer satisfactions while collecting necessary documentation and payment for medication.
* Completes charging of medications dispensed accurately to insurance companies and patients
* Completes all assigned daily tasks and assists others when time permits.

* Responds to incoming calls politely, efficiently, and in a timely manner and directs calls to appropriate personnel.
* Processes patient charges for pharmaceuticals in an efficient and timely manner, credits and returns to stock any medication not used by patients, and accurately and efficiently records narcotic charges for patients in order to ensure that high quality pharmacy services are provided to all patients.
