Duties of a Registered Pharmacy Technician may include but are not limited to the following: Under the direct personal supervision of a licensed Pharmacist: Batch-manufacture parenteral solutions using aseptic technique. Prepare sterile products, both hazardous and non-hazardous, for dispensing to patients of the facility. Assist in compounding oral dosage forms for patients. Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist: Deliver medication to patient care areas. Restock the dispensing areas of the Pharmacy; restock automated dispensing cabinets, including controlled drugs. Receive drug shipments into inventory, maintain appropriate levels of inventory in the work area and check for outdates. Complete patient care unit inspections. Repackage medications from bulk storage to individual unit-dose packages. Assist in labeling of medication in preparation for dispensing . Answer phone calls and route to the appropriate individual. Assist at the dispensing window. Process invoices; file inventory paperwork. Qualifications Required: Current valid NY State Registered Pharmacy Technician license and registration. Current valid Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health career Association (NHA) Pharmacy Technician certification. Preferred: One more more years of hospital Pharmacy Technician experience. Associate's degree or higher. Experience in sterile compounding.
