Work Environment

However, there is a possibility of a hybrid schedule in the future, allowing for three days remote and two days in-office, based on performance and attendance. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Pharmacy Technician performs pharmacy-related functions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to inventory, prepare, mix, and deliver investigational medications for use in clinical trials. Cleans and maintain pharmacy shelves and work areas as required.
Document and maintain the drug inventory through inventory control practices.
Order, receive, store, dispense, compound, dispose and maintain inventory of pharmacy supplies.
Ensure the security of all drug and pharmacy supplies.
Maintain an orderly, clean environment including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies.
Enter data into the computer system, recording delivery, changes in inventory, expired drug, returned drug, and other items as needed.
Maintain the temperature monitoring system for ambient storage cabinets, refrigerators, and freezers.
Separate expired drug from stock and prepare it for return or destruction,

Pre-package medication and products manually.
Ensure pre-pack log is completed each time medication is packaged.
Ensure all pre-packed EKIT inventory is verified by a pharmacist before it is placed on the shelf.

Work Environment
This role is based in a closed-door dispensing pharmacy environment. You will work at a desk on a computer for 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm, with occasional weekends possible. Initially, this position requires working in the office. However, there is a possibility of a hybrid schedule in the future, allowing for three days remote and two days in-office, based on performance and attendance. The Pharmacy Technician will work directly with Premier Community HealthCare Group's patients on providing best-in-class customer service at our pharmacy and perform a variety of activities in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Answer phones in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Answering questions within their scope and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, filling, and delivery of medications and other tasks associated with dispensing.
Ensures the patient receives correct medication by using appropriate dispensing procedures.
Maintains adequate stock of medication and supplies, uses safety precautions when stocking; ensures proper filling techniques are used when preparing medications.
Disseminates any information (drug shortages, availability, pricing, etc.) in a timely manner to the pharmacist and peers.
Re-establishes priorities based on workload and pharmacist's directions.
Ensures insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations are processed in a timely manner.
Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.
Demonstrate an understanding of 340B regulations, inventory management and managing a point-of-sale (POS) system.
