Job Description:
The Per Diem, Part-Time Pharmacy Technician performs designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling and dispensing of medications, including sterile admixtures and prepackaged or unit dose drugs. In addition, performs designated tasks regarding pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control and preparation of orders for drugs. All functions are under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
Licensure: Candidates licensed in all of the following states required: Las Vegas license is required.
Schedule:
It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work in a Part-Time capacity for a minimum of 24 hours per week and up to 35 hours per week during the hours of operation of: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm; 10:00 am-6:30 pm or 12:00 pm-8:30 am PST; Weekend and Holidays 8:00 am-6:30 pm PST.

Performs all duties under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Adheres to BioMatrix policies and procedures; and complies with federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
Complies with HIPAA Privacy Rule, and maintains strict confidentiality of patient, client and employee information.
Prepares and generates batches for preparation of prescriptions.
Prepares prescriptions and enters into CPR+ pharmacy software system for Pharmacist verification including delivery addresses, FedEx tracking numbers, changes in patient health status and communications to Pharmacist.
Accurately enters new product and supply inventory into CPR+ and maintains appropriate drug and supply inventory levels.
Generates labels, picks, and packages prepackaged and unit dose drugs in accordance with dispensing order (pick-list).
Maintains patient files with current prescriptions
Ensures all pending orders are approved by communicating with the billing department prior to shipment to assure insurance clearance prior to shipment date (prior authorization)
Notifies pharmacist of new prescriptions for subsequent patient orders
Works with intake coordinator to schedule shipment of drugs, pumps and supplies
Communicates with field staff and managers on shipment details: items shipped, delivery address, shipment date
Processes reorders in CPR+ according to RCC/PCS Order Request Forms
Accepts product and supply deliveries, unpacks, verifies accuracy of order and forwards packing information to accounts payable department
Monitors FedEx shipments to confirm delivery; fax delivery tickets into system
Files delivery tickets, order forms and prescriptions in an efficient, timely manner
Performs and records quality assurance activities
Maintains medication, ancillaries and supplies inventory levels to company goals; rotates stock and utilizes return process
Ensures pharmacy area is clean and maintained per organizational policy and procedure
Proactively improves understanding of bleeding disorders and other chronic disorders, products and treatments; stays current on legislative changes and insurance coverages, and is capable of disseminating this information to employees, patients and others within the bleeding disorder community
Attends QMC meetings on a quarterly basis and provides input
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise; attends continuing education programs to maintain expertise in pharmacy and information systems
Participates in continuing education programs appropriate to this position, and maintain current knowledge of government regulations and industry best practices; provides relevant updates to staff members accordingly

Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at AMG Specialty Hospital of Las Vegas. We are currently recruiting for a PRN Pharmacy Technician to work as needed for vacation/PTO, and occasional on-call coverage. Hours of the facility are Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM and weekends 8AM-12PM.
The Technician II, Health Systems Pharmacy provides assistance to the Pharmacist in the daily operations of the pharmacy. Activities include the preparation of and filling of prescriptions, taking pharmacy inventory and processing product returns. The Technician II, Health Systems Pharmacy ensures that all orders are reviewed by a registered pharmacist and records all activity in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines. This job frequently communicates with customers to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment of all orders.
Responsibilities
Assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
Prepares medication for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out of date items from the inventory.
Enters medical supply orders in pharmacy system.
Communicates with all customers (patients, clinics, care-givers, physicians) in an amicable and professional manner.
Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.

Job Description:
The Per Diem, Part-Time Pharmacy Technician performs designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling and dispensing of medications, including sterile admixtures and prepackaged or unit dose drugs. In addition, performs designated tasks regarding pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control and preparation of orders for drugs. All functions are under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
Licensure: Candidates licensed in all of the following states required: Las Vegas license is required.
Schedule:
It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work in a Part-Time capacity for a minimum of 24 hours per week and up to 35 hours per week during the hours of operation of: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm; 10:00 am-6:30 pm or 12:00 pm-8:30 am PST; Weekend and Holidays 8:00 am-6:30 pm PST.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required
Current and valid Pharmacy Technician license in good standing and issued by the state in which duties are performed, as noted in posting, required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs all duties under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Adheres to BioMatrix policies and procedures; and complies with federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
Complies with HIPAA Privacy Rule, and maintains strict confidentiality of patient, client and employee information.
Prepares and generates batches for preparation of prescriptions.
Prepares prescriptions and enters into CPR+ pharmacy software system for Pharmacist verification including delivery addresses, FedEx tracking numbers, changes in patient health status and communications to Pharmacist.
Accurately enters new product and supply inventory into CPR+ and maintains appropriate drug and supply inventory levels.
Generates labels, picks, and packages prepackaged and unit dose drugs in accordance with dispensing order (pick-list).
Maintains patient files with current prescriptions
Ensures all pending orders are approved by communicating with the billing department prior to shipment to assure insurance clearance prior to shipment date (prior authorization)
Notifies pharmacist of new prescriptions for subsequent patient orders
Works with intake coordinator to schedule shipment of drugs, pumps and supplies
Communicates with field staff and managers on shipment details: items shipped, delivery address, shipment date
Processes reorders in CPR+ according to RCC/PCS Order Request Forms
Accepts product and supply deliveries, unpacks, verifies accuracy of order and forwards packing information to accounts payable department
Monitors FedEx shipments to confirm delivery; fax delivery tickets into system
Files delivery tickets, order forms and prescriptions in an efficient, timely manner
Performs and records quality assurance activities
Maintains medication, ancillaries and supplies inventory levels to company goals; rotates stock and utilizes return process
Ensures pharmacy area is clean and maintained per organizational policy and procedure
Proactively improves understanding of bleeding disorders and other chronic disorders, products and treatments; stays current on legislative changes and insurance coverages, and is capable of disseminating this information to employees, patients and others within the bleeding disorder community
Attends QMC meetings on a quarterly basis and provides input
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise; attends continuing education programs to maintain expertise in pharmacy and information systems
Participates in continuing education programs appropriate to this position, and maintain current knowledge of government regulations and industry best practices; provides relevant updates to staff members accordingly
