Ability to read and understand English language labelling on product cartons and prescription labels. As a Pharmacy Technician specializing in sterile compounding, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and accurate preparation of sterile medication products for patients.Essential Functions Prepares sterile medications and solutions following established procedures and standards. Responsible for accurately measuring and weighing ingredients, following strict protocols, and maintaining a clean and sterile work area. Operates and maintains compounding equipment, such as laminar airflow hoods and biological safety cabinets. Uses sterile techniques to ensure the integrity and safety of compounded products. Cleans and maintains compounding areas and equipment to meet strict regulatory requirements. Works closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to compound and dispense medications in a sterile environment. Maintains accurate documentation of compounded medications and associated records. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. This role routinely uses sterile and specialized equipment such as repeater pumps, lyophilizes, laminar airflow hoods and electronic balances. Physical Demands This position requires frequent sitting, walking, standing, reading, seeing, speaking, hearing, listening, organizing, interpreting data and information, operating pharmacy and sterile equipment, typing using a computer keyboard and mouse, viewing a computer screen monitor, and use of a telephone. Some positions may require lifting, occasional bending or kneeling. The working environment consists of an indoor and climate-controlled setting the majority of the time. The employee may regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent; Pharmacy Technician certified. 1-2 years' experience preferred as a Pharmacy Technician, with specific experience in a Compounding preferred.
