YOUR LIFE AS A CERTIFIED PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

The hours for this position are semi-flexible. You may go into the hospital during the morning and do a round, then come back and do rounds in the evening. You might also work a straight shift.

As a Certified Physician Assistant, you do rounds in the hospital, checking in on different patients. Working as a part of a health care team, you examine patients, diagnose illnesses, develop/manage treatment plans, and prescribe medications. You work in all areas of medicine, depending on what is needed.

You are highly energetic, and your upbeat demeanor makes our patients feel safe and comfortable. They appreciate you taking the time to make sure they understand exactly what you're saying.   • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Pennsylvania. CRNPs that were certified by the Board after February 7, 2005, will be required to maintain current National certification in order to renew their Pennsylvania CRNP certification. The new regulations require that the 30-hours of continuing education required for license renewal be taken within the CRNP's specialty.
  • Meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.

Experience

  • One year of medical care experience preferably as a Physician Assistant or CRNP in a medical practice.
