WSP USA is seeking multiple **Part-Time Senior Transit Inspectors** to join our **National Fleet Facilities Team.** These positions may be based out of **Lansing-MI, Livermore-CA, Aniston-AL, or Washington, DC.**
Provides technical assistance and physical inspection tasks for vehicle inspection and assessment of client vehicles and equipment on an as-needed basis. This position is responsible for the review and inspection of specific component systems as well as overall vehicle readiness and compliance with contract requirements for multiple agencies and vehicle platforms. In this position the inspector will review the physical components and OEM requirements for teardown, repair and reinstallation of major and ancillary components, assuring these tasks are completed to OEM specification and client requirements.
Your Impact
+ Review work-force readiness and certifications of staff completing the rehabilitation or repair work.
+ Physically inspect all work completed by the repair technicians and record all data using hand written notes and images.
+ Perform and observe specific component testing and functionality tests using common and specialized tools (brake tester, depth gauge, etc).
+ Perform daily, repetitive monitoring and inspections of all components and vehicles through the rehabilitation process.
+ Compile data and images obtained through the inspection process and submit these as required on a daily, weekly or project completion regimen using approved forms and reporting tools.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma.
+ 10 to 15 years in the transit or related heavy duty industry as a maintenance technician.
+ Proficient knowledge in bus manufacturing, repair and maintenance techniques and requirements.
+ Ability to work in a fast paced multi-unit industrial environment coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
+ Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work.
+ Ability to plan and conduct inspections and investigations on various aspects of a bus rehabilitation effort and vehicle assessment tasks for contract compliance audits.
+ Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally.
+ Highly capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
+ Ability to work independently and with strict adherence to QA/QC. Proficiency with technical writing, technology, spreadsheets, and tools.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

+ Knowledge in and the ability to perform and record DOT air system tests.
+ An in-depth knowledge of major component systems (engine, transmission, lighting, electrical, HVAC, brakes, suspension, air systems, fire suppression and ADA compliance) functionality and requirements.

+ ASE Master certification in Medium/Heavy duty or Transit Bus.
+ Experience managing small to mid-size projects.
+ 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training.

Construction Representative - Lead Inspector
We have a career opportunity for a Construction Representative - Lead Inspector in Novi, MI who will work with a broad range of construction projects with our Construction Services Group In this role you will be responsible for the daily inspection and documentation of infrastructure projects including road, bridge, water main, and sewer construction, as well as play an important role in managing client relationships. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives that drive the growth of the construction group.
This position anticipates that you bring some experience with you, being able to lead the inspection or oversight of significant construction tasks with a high level of independence. This position provides progression towards managing multiple project tasks and becoming a project manager.
Location
This position provides a flexible work schedule, with three days working from the Novi, MI office and two days remotely.
The Impact You Will Have
Responsible for overseeing one or more key tasks on construction projects and complying with all project and company safety guidelines.
Perform construction inspection and documentation and communicate if the work observed appears in compliance with project requirements.
Prepare inspector's daily reports and other project documentation as required by the project procedures, and being the example for documentation that supporting staff will refer to and checking their work.
Report on progress of work, including technical issues, status of work remaining to be done and any noted deficiencies.
Be the main point of contact at the field level for the Benesch team, as well as, preparing calculations and supporting sketches for project documentation.
Perform basic documentation audits, log, track and/or prepare responses to submittals and RFI's, and perform materials testing including concrete testing and density testing.
Write meeting minutes and conduct select project meetings and participating in client events and relative association activities.
Assist with client relationships, as well as, assisting with writing responses to Requests for Proposals from clients.
What We Are Looking For
BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or in a related engineering curriculum required, EIT preferred.
6-15 years of working experience with MDOT is preferred.

Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED required.
Ability to work under a microscope and sit for extended periods.
2+ years solder/visual inspection experience or 2+ years manufacturing/soldering experience with electronic assemblies.
1+ year conformal coating experience.
Experience inspecting solder connections or building CCAs per IPC-A-610 & IPC-J-STD-001.
Strong attention to detail; quality- and process-focused.
Skilled in interpreting drawings, diagrams, parts lists, and IPC standards.
Strong communication skills; team-oriented; able to work professionally with manufacturing.
Basic PC proficiency.

Summary:
Visually inspect solder and conformal coating of circuit card assemblies using predetermined methods, inspection operations, and prescribed specifications in accordance with IPC-A-610 & IPC-J-STD-001 requirements
Follow instructions, drawings, checklists, and use measuring devices (dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, etc.) to ensure assemblies meet manufacturing and industry standards
Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, parts lists, IPC manuals, revision control documents, and work instructions
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of experience inspecting solder connections on both surface mount and plated thru-hole components per IPC-A-610 & IPC-J-STD-001
Ability to navigate IPC standards and apply accept/reject criteria accurately
Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
Team player with excellent verbal and written communication
Proficient with personal computers
Effectively interface with all levels of manufacturing to address quality defects

Description: The Quality Control Inspector will conduct a variety of inspections on inbound materials from vendors, in process and final products for shipping. Accept or reject products based on dimensional requirements and specifications defined by customer and/or internal requirements. Interact internally and externally with other departments and/or customers.
Job Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with 2 years of work-related experience, including 1 year in aerospace and familiarity with AS9102 (FAI). Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or other manufacturing software is required. Experience with Quality Management System policies and procedures is preferred, and ASQ certifications or Six Sigma Green Belt certification would be a plus.
