SME with a deep technical expertise in all systems under his/her responsibility (GMP HVAC, GMP Utilities and ancillary systems associated within their facilities), understanding their applications in pharmaceutical manufacturing, well versed with flow charts and process parameters, and awareness of industry trends.
· Ensure the assigned processes are in alignment with the applicable regulatory Industry and Client's Standards.

· Implement efficient and effective maintenance and reliability techniques.
· Apply problem solving skills by leading equipment failures, troubleshooting, demonstrating RCA lead investigator proficiency and guide operations personnel in the resolution of process issues.
· Provide customer consultation and notifications on issues that involve utilities areas. Assure that all necessary items are identified on the proper tracking systems, and make sure that items are completed by the required date.
· Provide technical assistance as necessary to maintenance, and operations personnel.
· Support internal and external inspections and investigations (including Quality and HSE).
· Maintain efficient communications with appropriate site customer groups.
· Proficiency with the DMS and CAPA systems.
· Maintain, develop, and conduct operations training of utility systems.
· Utilize statistical analysis tools to determine the process control, and capability for investigations.
· Participate in Process Hazard Review meetings and/or Safety Teams as required by leadership
Education/Experience
· Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant sciences and 4 years of experience with GMP Utilities
Experience with Air Compressors, chilled water, steam boilers, Air Handling Units, heating hot water, waste water) and clean utilities (Clean compressed air, Water for Injection, Nitrogen, Clean Steam).
· Start-up experience preferred.
· Advanced degrees or certification relevant to the role is a plus.

Job Description
The Systems Engineer will lead product development and system design for our New Product Engineering (NPE) group. The systems engineer position is responsible for unit performance, product validation, issue troubleshooting and product costing. The position requires technical and conceptual knowledge of the detailed design and system performance aspects of industrial refrigeration products. The position is the owner of technical information and the technical lead within a project team. The systems engineer will interact extensively with core technologies, PMO, engineering systems, product management, manufacturing, supply chain, other functions, and BAC partners.
NATURE & SCOPE
The Systems Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Team Lead
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for the on-time completion and management of deliverables of new product development, sustaining engineering, cost reduction, and other projects as assigned with the product category.
Investigates and analyzes product design requirements, reconciles the specification against industrial refrigeration customer requirements and recommends optimum solutions.
Develops operational solutions by defining, studying, estimating, and screening condenser applications in the field and exploring alternative solutions, calculating functional/performance determining impact on all systems.
Anticipates operational problems by studying operating targets, modes of operation, unit limitations, and unit performance.
Supports manufacturing, quality, and field issues - actively participates in root cause analysis exercises
Identifies and implements product improvements and cost-out opportunities.
Establishes test criteria, participates in laboratory testing, and analyzes test data to identify and optimize product performance characteristics.
Applies technical and mathematical principles, theories, concepts, techniques, processes, and best practices in the development of products.
Understands mechanical design and can conceptualize and communicate design ideas to other team members.
Continuously increases expertise on all aspects of our product design, theory, construction, operation, and applications.
Learns and applies regulatory codes such as CTI, GB, UL, ASME, CE, PED etc.
Strives for continuous improvement and teamwork in a global product development and process environment.
Adheres to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Travel periodically to BAC manufacturing facilities, suppliers, trade shows, up to 15% including internationally
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master's degree is a plus
Systems Experience: Intermediate proficiency using 3D CAD systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and project management software.

Technical Requirements:
Minimum Requirements
3 years of professional/practical experience in HVAC/refrigeration industry in a product/system design and or field services role. 3 years of experience in commercial and/or industrial refrigeration preferred.
In-depth understanding of circulating air blower systems, heating & cooling systems (including refrigeration psychometrics), and electrical systems.
Experience with determining selections for components and equipment, such as fans, pumps, piping, etc.
Applied experience with the principles of fluid flow and airflow.
Preferred Candidate Requirements
5 years of professional/practical experience in HVAC/refrigeration industry in a product/system design and or field services role. 5 years of experience in commercial and/or industrial refrigeration preferred.
Experience with industrial controls systems preferred; software programming is a plus.
Design for Manufacturing, Design of Experiments; experience preferred.
Sound and/or vibration measurement and analysis experience is a plus.
Experience with heat transfer concepts is a plus.
Ability to run of FEA/CFD models and communicate design directions based on interpreted results.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working hours are the standard BAC 40 hours per week (8:30am-5:00pm with flexible start/finish times allowed)
Travel, both domestic and international, can be up to 15% of the time
The role supports global teams thus occasional evening/weekend hours required, although can often be done from home with the use of a portable computer.
Primarily Sedentary Activity in the office will be experienced; however periodic travel to BAC manufacturing facilities with assembly (medium work) is required.

+ Individuals in this position are responsible for planning, organizing, and performing detailed electrical and controls design and support management of engineering activities.
+ This position receives general administrative direction from the division manager and is responsible for process controls design of multiple projects of varying complexity.

+ Capable of with specification and programming of controls systems including Rockwell family of processors and HMI's, ability to program new applications and modify existing applications with ample annotation for future reference
+ Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Modbus, Profibus and other industrial communication protocols
+ Experience programming Wonderware, IFix, Maple, Delta V, Siemens, Omron, Modicon, Mitsubishi and Koyo is a plus
+ Experience programming SCADA and SQL is a plus
+ Working knowledge of and ability to specify control systems for use in hazardous area locations as identified by NFPA 70
+ Working knowledge of ISA standards and ability to interpret and contribute to development of P&ID
+ Working knowledge of and ability to design robust safety circuits and specify components of varying industry requirements
