Minimum Education:
Graduate of a Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) approved nursing program or equivalent curriculum that meets the requirements of a BRN approved nursing program.
Preferred Education:
BSN preferred.
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must be able to work in a union environment.
Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications:
Two years of RN experience in an acute care environment, one of which included charge and or preceptor responsibility.
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card (AHA)
Specialty certification from a nationally recognized organization relevant to area of practice required or obtained within 1 year of hire or promotion to Charge Nurse.
Other training to be eligible as a Level III RN must be met at time of hire or within 1 year of hire.
Other certifications: must possess the same required certifications as the RNs in the department of hire.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary
The Registered Nurse, under general supervision, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
Neonatal Intensive Critical Care Unit (NICCU): a level IV neonatal intensive care unit, that features 58 beds and serves as an international referral center with the majority of patients from the western United States. We provide a complete range of medical and surgical services for neonates with the most complex conditions. The unit's specialized programs include the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Program, a Whole-Body Therapeutic Hypothermia Program, complex surgical specialties, highly specialized ventilatory support & home ventilation program, neonatal and infant diagnostic and follow-up services.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience
1+ years' experience as an Level III NICCU RN required ; NICCU experience Level IV preferred
Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment. Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain
a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate
tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.

Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Director, this position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and providing high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process.
Minimum Education:
Graduate of an accredited RN Training Program.
Minimum Experience/Skills:
Minimum one-year recent experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
Current California RN license
BLS from AHA
ACLS from AHA
NIHSS
EKG
Assault Response Competency (ARC) required within 30 days of hire
Fire Card required within 30 of hire
