Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the Thin-Kerf Gang Saw Operator will use a multiple blade gang saw to machine a single log cant into multiple boards in one pass. JOB DUTIES: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties: * Operate gangsaw to machine a single log cant into multiple boards while following production schedules based upon species and thickness of material. * Guides and monitors quality of boards produced. * Communicate with head-saw operators and downstream employees. * Run a control panel that controls flow of cants and lumber. * Assist with set up of saws. * Safely handle boards when needed. * Perform any other work-related task deemed necessary by the mill management. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: * Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening. * Positive and Verifiable Work History. * Previous experience in the wood manufacturing sector, in a sawmill, planer mill or with forest products. * Experience with a thin-kerf gangsaw or a manual board edger. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
