Champion Window company history timeline
1953 Champion was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio as a small manufacturer of aluminum storm windows, storm doors, awnings, and screen rooms.
In 1968 Champion moved to Syosset, New York, in response to growth in its business and customer base.
1975 Became an industry pioneer in vinyl replacement windows.
The building in Syosset was the headquarters for Champion’s manufacturing of storm windows and doors until 1983, at which point the evolving market caused a shift in focus to replacement windows with the development and successful launch of its Series 2500 tilt-in double hung window.
Due to the large increase in sales resulting from the success of its newly introduced replacement line, Champion expanded its facility in 1984 from 30,000 square feet to 45,000 square feet.
1992 Expansion began with the opening of Champion's first affiliate offce in Lexington, Kentucky.
Over time, Champion began to introduce more products, and this expansion caused the company to purchase its neighboring building in 1997 to provide an additional 35,000 square feet for production, and also to begin doing business as Champion Window and Door.
1997 Opened a second manufacturing facility in Denver, Colorado to serve the western United States.
2000 Moved the Cincinnati location into a new 502,000 sq. ft. corporate headquarters and manufacturing campus in Sharonville, Ohio.
2006 Added our exclusive ColorBond® options to our window selections, allowing customers a choice in designer exterior window colors.
On January 3, 2011, the assets of Champion Window and Door were acquired by Michael Lentin.
