Perform in-life technical procedures on mice, including handling, restraint, body weight measurement, tumor volume measurement with calipers or imaging device, compound administration, blood collection, and euthanasia.
Record study data within the laboratory information management system.

Perform general study preparation and organizational activities, including sample tube labeling, supply organization and stocking, and laboratory organization.
Work weekends and holidays on rotating basis.

Major Responsibilities:
Prepare cell banks of all the cell lines for R&D department usages
Maintain biological reagents inventory stocks for R&D research.
Maintain all laboratory instrument records.
Comply with the correct procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations.
Conduct laboratory tests, analyze results, and document your findings.
Stay informed with the latest industry trends, techniques, and best practices.
Document all activities, results and report to management as needed.
Classify and label samples.

Assist in developing T cell therapy platform, perform cell-based immunoassays, including ex-vivio antigen specific T cell isolation and expansion, Viral-vector based introduction of TCRs / CARs into human T cells, multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISPOT assays
Culture and characterize genetically modified human T cells and tumor cells including gene expression and cell functionalities testing
Plan and execute in vitro functional assays with T cells according to project goals and timelines.
Effectively communicate plans and results in both oral and written form.
Ability to work in a highly dynamic collaborative team environment.

Education:

Experience:

The Center for Discovery and Innovation- CDI was established by Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) as an academic basic and translational research enterprise to rapidly translate science innovation to the clinic and to improve outcomes for patients with cancer, infectious diseases, autoimmune disease and other acute and chronic diseases. The CDI has grown rapidly since its origins in 2019, and now has 32 labs, 190 scientists and allied personnel supported by 60 NIH grants and more than 30 other grants and contracts. Areas of expertise include genomics, epigenetics, drug resistance, stem cell biology, drug discovery, diagnostics and biomarker development, and pharmacology.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Research Specialist, Center for Discovery and Innovation- CDI at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
* Performs general laboratory functions including but not limited to equipment maintenance and restocking.
* Assists in designing and performing experiments and data analysis.
* Maintains accurate notes and records of all research performed.
* Performs data collection and interpretation of results.
* Creates reports from analysis of initial observations and conclusions.
* Establishes experimental protocols, design and documentation.
* Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the lab.
* Recommends changes to the lab practices and procedures.
* Uses necessary equipment to perform studies.
* Maintains lab space.
* Learns about and shares with laboratory members the latest advances in laboratory techniques being used.
* Communicates issues to the Principal Investigator, Laboratory Manager or Department Chair.
* Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
* Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent training.
* Minimum of 1 or more years of experience.
* Ability to work independently and have a strong work ethic.
* Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
* Flexible in work schedule. Must be available to occasionally come to the laboratory on a weekend day or stay late for a given experiment.
* Lab specific technical skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
* B.Sc. or Master's degree.
* Experience working in a BSL2/BSL3 lab facility.

Compensation
Minimum rate of $21.40 Hourly

The PA will serve as a primary assistant to the doctor. Duties will include clinical evaluation of patients in the office, counseling patients and their families regarding proposed surgical procedures as well as addressing pre-and post-operative patient questions and concerns, and surgical first assist role in the operating room. There are no weekend shifts or overnight call, however, effective communication with the outpatient staff and inpatient hospital teams is essential. The PA will interact closely with office staff, other PAs, patients and families to be an integral part of providing a high level of clinical care and service.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited PA program, current NYS/NJ PA License, BLS/ACLS certification and NCCPA board certification are required.
Also, the candidate must have a current Infection Control Certification and have completed a child abuse recognition course. The PA must have excellent communication skills and be a team player. Surgical experience or training is preferred.
