What is a Change Over

A change over is a person that helps lead a company during a changeover, when a company switches from making one product or service to another. Change overs can work in the professional, finance, or manufacturing industries. They develop relationships with key stakeholders and include their input during a company's change of direction.

Often, change overs will use technical tools such as Windows systems, User Acceptance Testing, and design software in order to design and implement the change. A change over also documents the changeover process and makes sure to update any user manuals, process documents, or other paperwork to reflect the product's new direction.

The requirements for becoming a change over depend on the field where they work. Someone working in finance will more than likely need a bachelor's degree in business or a related field, while someone working in manufacturing can do just fine with only a high school diploma. Demand for change overs is expected to rise by 21% by 2028, and they earn an average annual salary of $84,517.

There is more than meets the eye when it comes to being a change over. For example, did you know that they make an average of $39.46 an hour? That's $82,069 a year!

Between 2018 and 2028, the career is expected to grow 21% and produce 284,100 job opportunities across the U.S.
