Job Description
Water Tech. is currently seeking an entry level Wastewater Operator to work in the Hemlock MI area to learn different wastewater treatment processes.
This position is responsible for learning and controlling treatment plants, machines, and equipment to clarify and purify water and wastewater for permitted industrial uses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Learn to operate and control electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of water into treatment facilities.
Learn to collect and test water samples to determine concentration levels and impurities.
Learn to perform all scheduled maintenance, service, and new installations of water treatment equipment.
Learn to be responsible for accurate record keeping of client data such as residual content of chemicals, water turbidity, and water pressure.
Comply with all client safety parameters.
Provide regular communication with fellow operators and management of any non-routine operating parameters that occur.
May be responsible for assisting with compiling data for the Environmental Protection Agency. Coordinate with other operators throughout the customers plant in order to maintain the plants water treatment equipment.
Learn to coordinate with Veolia's purchasing department to order wastewater treatment supplies, such as equipment and chemicals, in order to maintain the client's wastewater treatment equipment.
Learn to troubleshoot problems within client's wastewater treatment equipment and coordinate repairs as necessary.
On an individual basis, study for either the physical/chemical or biological wastewater certification exam. (Training material is provided)
Be able to work different shifts (days, evenings, nights) as well as length of shifts (8 to 12 hrs).
Will require travel to several locations outside of the area that you originally applied for. Travel could be anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks away from home to learn new treatment processes.
Could be as much as 75% travel away from home to learn new wastewater treatment processes/systems.

Must be proficient with MS Office or google apps. 3 - 5 years of related work experience.

Annual Base Salary for newly appointed CBPOs varies as follows:
GS-9: $61,111 - $124,443 per year
Note: A fully trained CBPO is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary.
Officers are eligible to select from an array of federal employment benefits that include health, dental and other insurance plans, generous annual and sick leave, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan.
LOCATION INCENTIVES: If you accept one of the duty locations listed below, you may be eligible to receive an additional 15%-25% of your salary each year for the first three (3) years of employment in addition to any overtime pay. Some locations may offer 25% for four (4) years.

Qualifications:
