You must be based in the San Antonio area, able to visit adult hospice patients in their homes, at facilities, as well as consult by phone. Education and Training: Conduct educational sessions and provide training to hospice staff on spiritual and cultural considerations, end-of-life care, and ethical issues related to religious beliefs and practices. Community Outreach: Collaborate with local religious organizations and community groups to provide spiritual support services and foster partnerships that enhance the spiritual well-being of patients and families. Personal Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in chaplaincy, spiritual care, and end-of-life support. Qualifications: Possess a minimum of a Bachelors degree in theology, church lay pastor experience or higher preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred 2+ years experience required as a chaplain in an in-home hospice care setting. Ability to attend IDG meetings weekly in person at our San Antonio office. Creates timely and accurate documentation. Assures patient safety. Partners with community chaplains and spiritual counselors. Utilizes resources effectively and efficiently. Hospice Chaplain Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Divinity, Theology, Ministry or Pastoral Care from an accredited school. Minimum of two years' experience providing spiritual support and counseling to clients and family members in a health care setting. Demonstration of expertise in spiritual assessment and counseling, and in concepts of death and dying issues. Knowledge of concepts and issues for dying for adults and children. Current Colorado driver's license and automobile insurance. Hospice Chaplain Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in divinity, theology or related field. Previous hospice experience.
