RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Navy Chaplain, your job spans a broad range of duties. You will support fellow servicemembers during their most joyful and most difficult moments. Your responsibilities might be to:
Conduct worship services in a variety of settings
Perform religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings, funeral services and baptisms
Counsel individuals who seek guidance
Oversee religious education programs, such as Sunday school and youth groups

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
U.S. citizen or equivalent
Graduate degree in theological or related studies from an accredited educational institution
Have two years of full-time religious leadership experience

Salvation Army Officer or Minister with some experience in counseling.

3. Arrange programs and assignments for participants of Chapel services.
4. Arrange to counsel all seekers who go to the alter at chapel services.
5. Be available for counsel and prayer at all times, and especially after Wednesday and Sunday services.
6. Coordinate and conduct bible study on scheduled night.
7. Interview all incoming clients. Acquaint them with the religious programs of The Salvation Army.
8. Work with the Program Department in relationship to the spiritual needs of beneficiaries.
9. Maintain confidentiality as needed and required for the operation of the total program.
10. Other written or verbal duties as may be assigned by the Administrator or his designate.

JOB SUMMARY
The Hospice Chaplain is responsible for the provision of spiritual care services to patients and families/caregivers of Cornerstone Healthcare, Inc., either directly or through coordination of care with other spiritual counselors.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assures spiritual assessment of patients and families/caregivers in the hospice program and appropriate services are rendered in a timely manner.
Facilitates the development of the individualized plan of care by participating in the comprehensive assessment to meet identified spiritual needs.
Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families/caregivers.
Serves as liaison and support to community chaplains and spiritual counselors.
Provides consultation, education, and support to the interdisciplinary group on spiritual care.
Provides for funeral or memorial services for patients as requested.
Plans periodic memorial services to meet the needs of personnel, volunteers, and community clergy/spiritual counselors working with the hospice team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology Preferred (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree). Experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver.
Hospice/ experience preferred.
Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary team/group.
Comfort in an interfaith setting.
Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.
