RESPONSIBILITIES

What We're Looking For:
Passion for Service: Experience working with patients and families, especially those facing end-of-life care.
Spiritual Leadership: Graduate of an accredited seminary or theology school (BD, M.Div. or equivalent) and licensed or ordained minister. Hospice experience is a plus.

Qualifications:

Duties:
Ensure patients and/or families have spiritual care counseling services, as desired
Is familiar with the Patient's Care Plan and incorporates those Interventions and Goals into Patient Visits (when applicable).
Develop a Patient Care Plan to include spiritual aspects of hospice care individualized to the patient and family
Participate as a member of an Interdisciplinary Teams when possible
Provide leadership and officiating of funerals when asked by families
Actively participates with Chaplain Team to provide care for all patients, families and staff
Communicate with assigned Chaplain after all patient/family visits (including In Person, Phone, and Electronic Communication for continuity of care
Maintain communication with Supervisor regarding Weekly Schedule, Patient/Family Concerns and Chaplain Requests
Attend regularly scheduled meetings
Participate in providing spiritual care to staff through (but not limited to):
One-on-one interaction and support, intentional and mature listening presence
Providing prayer, devotions, Memorial meditations, etc. in all staff gatherings/meetings

Navy Chaplains immerse themselves in the daily lives of service members. In what can be best described as a ministry of presence, they are there to offer guidance and insight in the moment, whenever theyre needed. You could provide support while on land or at sea, when presiding over religious ceremonies on a base or when conducting services from the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.
PART-TIME OPPORTUNITIES
There are part-time opportunities as a Navy Chaplain. Serving part-time as a Reserve Chaplain gives you the flexibility to minister in the Navy while maintaining responsibilities to your congregation at home.

As a Navy Chaplain, your job spans a broad range of duties. You will support fellow servicemembers during their most joyful and most difficult moments. Your responsibilities might be to:
Conduct worship services in a variety of settings
Perform religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings, funeral services and baptisms
Counsel individuals who seek guidance
Oversee religious education programs, such as Sunday school and youth groups
Visit and provide spiritual guidance and care to hospitalized personnel and their family members
Train lay leaders who conduct religious education programs
Promote attendance at religious services, retreats and conferences
Advise leaders at all levels regarding morale, ethics and spiritual well-being
