RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Navy Chaplain, your job spans a broad range of duties. You will support fellow servicemembers during their most joyful and most difficult moments. Your responsibilities might be to:

Under the general supervision of the Corrections Program Supervisor, the professional DOC Chaplain is responsible for development, administration and oversight of congregate religious programming and spiritual care for persons of all creeds/faith/religions residing in minimum-, medium-, and maximum- security correctional facilities. Program delivery will be accomplished primarily through recruitment, training, scheduling and supervision of community volunteers to provide direct activities, such as worship services, religious study group, spiritual care and special events. DOC Chaplains apply principles of pluralism, and ensure all Umbrella Religion Groups (URGs) and individuals are treated fairly and equitable in accommodations and distribution of facility resources. In coordination, with facility leadership, the chaplain will integrate religious accommodations within the institution's overall rehabilitation/treatment objectives; provide staff education/training on principles of religious pluralism, grief, moral injury, forgiveness, etc.; and participate on committees as assigned.
The position serves as liaison between the Institution and faith-based community organizations. Chaplains also manage religious literature and dietary accommodations, and maintain relevant publica records. The Chaplain may directly or indirectly plan and oversee religious ceremonies and faith-based education in the absence of community volunteers. This position may or may not directly facilitate services and study groups within their own religious tradition, depending upon population needs and facility resources.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 12-64 with a starting pay of $27.00/hour - $34.34/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

The Chaplain provides pastoral care and counseling on an ecumenical basis to Aspirus patients, their family members and staff. Establishes working relationships with community clergy and supports their participation in developing and providing spiritual care for their faith community.
HOURS: Part Time 0.6 FTE, 48 Hours Biweekly
Experience/Qualifications
* Knowledge of theology, religious traditions, practices and beliefs, and spirituality normally acquired through completion of a graduate degree from an accredited theological school or college is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
* A minimum of one (1) unit of clinical pastoral education or willingness to obtain within the first year of hire required.
* A minimum of four (4) successfully completed units of clinical pastoral education, preferred.
* Clinical pastoral education accredited by ACPE preferred.
* Knowledge of theology, religious traditions, practices and beliefs, and spirituality normally acquired through completion of a graduate degree from an accredited theological school or college is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
* A minimum of one (1) unit of clinical pastoral education or willingness to obtain within the first year of hire.
* A minimum of two years of parish or parish-related experience necessary to enhance and develop skills.
* Four to six years of parish experience and prior pastoral experience in a general hospital beneficial.
* Ordination, ecclesiastical endorsement, and certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) beneficial.
* Possesses general knowledge of behavioral sciences and health care, with the ability to integrate that knowledge with religious faith and practice.

What You'll Do as a Hospice Chaplain:
Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers in alignment with their beliefs and values.
Offer non-denominational, inclusive care that respects all faiths, spiritual traditions, and cultural backgrounds.
Serve as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, participating in patient care conferences and collaborating with nurses, social workers, aides, and medical staff.
Assess spiritual needs of patients and families and develop individualized spiritual care plans.
Conduct visits, prayers, blessings, and rituals as appropriate and requested by the patient or family.
Assist families during times of grief, loss, or transition, and provide bereavement support and counseling.
Build relationships with local faith leaders and community resources to support patients' and families' unique spiritual needs.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation of spiritual assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
About You
The candidate must meet one of the following educational requirements:
Bachelor's degree in theology, religion, human services, counseling, psychology, or sociology (or as required by state-specific regulations)
A minimum of one unit of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
Note: Degrees from accredited institutions are preferred. If a degree is from a non-accredited college or university, AVPO approval is required prior to hire.
