ABOUT THE POSITION
Required Experience & Skills:
At least ten years of experience in game development, including participation in shipping AAA titles.
Proficient in both keyframe and motion capture animation techniques.
Skilled in industry-standard animation packages such as Maya and MotionBuilder or equivalents.

The base salary range for this role is between $120,000-$140,000 per year

Unchained Entertainment is an independent video game development studio founded in March 2011. We are currently developing Camelot Unchained, a niche, RvR-focused, old-school MMORPG inspired by large-scale realm warfare and player-driven worlds.
Job Description
We are looking for a 3D Environment Artist to help build, populate, and refine the world of Camelot Unchained. In this role, you will contribute to the visual quality, performance, and cohesion of our in-game environments, taking assets from concept through final implementation. You will collaborate closely with art, design, and engineering to bring immersive, performant environments to life.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the art team to create beautiful, cohesive, and performant environments and levels
Create high-quality environment assets from concept to in-game implementation
Work closely with art leads to identify and improve workflows, tools, and pipelines
Partner with design and engineering throughout the environment development process
Ensure assets meet visual, technical, and performance requirements
Share knowledge and collaberate with fellow artists
Qualifications
3+ years of professional experience as a 3D Environment Artist or in a similar role
Experience creating organic assets such as trees, foliage, rocks, and terrain
Strong prop creation skills, including structures, architectural elements, and world props
Strong art fundamentals, understanding of form, scale, mass, color, composition, and lighting
Experience building assets for real-time, in-game environments
Ability and willingness to learn and work within a proprietary game engine
Understanding of working within art and performance budgets
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Passion for games, especially MMORPGs
Strong work ethic with a high sense of ownership and accountability
Comfortable working remotely
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with physically based rendering (PBR) workflows
Interest or experience in procedural environment creation
Experience using SpeedTree

Using animation to amplify our visual storytelling
Translating strategic direction into emotionally resonant pieces
Co-developing visual voice and motion identity with the Graphic Designer
Animate short videos for social, decks, and brand campaigns
Enhance live-action video with motion graphics and overlays
Create looping or modular content (great for LinkedIn)
We are looking for:
Your portfolio showcases storytelling, aesthetic cohesion, and creativity
Expertise in 2D and 3D Computer Animation
You're familiar with creative references across industries (fashion, wellness, tech)
Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, storytelling, editing and web video standards
You love developing storyboards for animation projects
Proficiency in animation and video editing software
