Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles,

underserved, urban environments. Charles R. Drew was originally established to provide medical care for
those living in the South Central region of Los Angeles and is still
committed to that mission. Training medical doctors in various capacities, Charles R. Drew offers

disenfranchised backgrounds. The Pipeline Program, as it's called, is
unique and innovative. Starting students in science-based and medical education when they are in elementary school, the Pipeline Program trains students at a young age so that by the time they reach college they will have the academic and scientific foundations necessary to pursue a medical career. Student services at Charles Drew include financial aid for eligible
students, counseling services, housing options, student health services,
academic advising, student government as well as numerous professional
