Chase Brass and Copper company history timeline

1876

The company was established and incorporated in 1876 in Waterbury, Connecticut, by Henry Sabin Chase, who also served as its first president.

1900

Henry Sabin Chase succeeds his father as president and introduces the first brass rolling mill in Waterbury, CT in 1900.

1929

The company erected a plant on Babbitt Road in Euclid, Ohio, in 1929, its first foray into the American Midwest.

1932

1970

By the mid-1970’s, Chase’s brass is used in majority of brass construction fixtures.

1976

1990

With warnings issued by the Justice Department that it would take anti-trust actions against TBG, and the threat of a civil suit, it was not until 1990 that BP was able to offload its brass rod manufacturing operations in Montpelier, Ohio.

2002

Chase initiates Project 400, a three phase expansion program with the goal of achieving brass production capacity of more than 400 million pounds per year by 2002.
