+ Collaborate with a team of world-class engineers with diverse backgrounds in areas such as mechanical design & engineering, electronics, AI, robotics, mechatronics, planning, machine learning, control, localization, computer vision, rendering, simulation, distributed computing, design, and automated testing.

+ Candidate will be challenged to rethink what it means for hardware design to arrive at elegant and efficient systems now that a robot is in control.

+ Responsible to lead a cross functional activity to integrate a new robotic vehicle controller into the Client autonomous test fleet.

+ To accomplish this objective the candidate, working with program management, will lead a cross functional team of electrical, firmware/software, controls, functional safety, test, and mechanical engineers to implement a new chassis controller for autonomous vehicle motion control.

+ Develop and perform simulations of the complete system in MATLAB/Simulink and work with teams to translate simulations into embedded C code.
+ interface to electronic controller suppliers.

+ Supervise and execute system modeling and simulation in MATLAB/Simulink.

+ Plan and coordinate the activities of software teams, converting between Simulink models and embedded C code.

+ Integrate and implement the new controller in the Client Development Fleet.

+ Collaborate with suppliers to manage designs, design documents, execute engineering disciplines and component deliveries.

+ Collaborate with different Client teams for functional safety, vehicle control strategies, testing and trouble shooting.

+ Collaborate with experts in AI, Mechatronics, Computer Vision, and Robotics from all teams throughout Client.

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering master's or PhD a plus.

+ Demonstrated experience in vehicle controls and utilization of CAN protocols.

+ Understanding of steering and braking systems, electrical systems, and system architecture.

+ Experience in testing and vehicle development.

+ Strong communication skills with peers, management, and suppliers.

+ Knowledge of functional safety analysis and ISO 26262.

+ Good team and collaboration skills, good documentation discipline.

+ Experience with vehicle lateral and longitudinal control, conventional steering and braking systems and control strategies, functional safety analysis (i.e., ISO 26262), software coding practice, supplier and project management, and good team skills are required.

As a new graduate entering into Design and Release Engineering for Chassis Architecture, you will learn about and create the components that control lateral, longitudinal and vertical control of world leading electric vehicles. You will engage with attribute groups and other system owners to make a premier steering, suspension and braking system from concept to production.

Role

* Design and develop in suspension, steering and braking systems to meet system and vehicle requirements while optimizing for efficiency, cost, weight, ergonomics, manufacturability and serviceability
* Demonstrate ability to handle multiple competing work assignments from engineering, studio, and manufacturing
* Support CAD studies for vehicle variants and platform studies
* Support engineering release processes
* Support vehicle programs through the entire life cycle including; design, prototype builds, vehicle test, and production

Qualifications

* 2+ years of Chassis experience with an automotive OEM or supplier
* Knowledge of suspension architectures and system technologies
* Basic 3D CAD skills in CATIA V5/V6 or similar software
* Knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles
* Knowledge of NVH principles

Advantageous

* Vehicle integration and package experience
* Working knowledge of vehicle suspension and vehicle dynamics preferred
* Experience driving vehicle level attributes
* Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
* Passion for engineering and problem solving
* Motivation, flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with tight timing constraints
* Proven problem solving and communication skills, excellent numeracy and spatial awareness
