A Dining Hall Checker is a customer service based employee that is responsible for recording customer counts, greeting our customer base and answering any questions regarding student meal plan card balances. This position will be responsible for recording any revenue taken during a meal period. Other responsibilities of this work may include the training of other College personnel in the position and the general upkeep of the dining room and work area.

This is considered a part time non benefits eligible position. The starting salary range for the position is $15.00
Essential Functions
*Cheerfully greets the customers.
Maintains a sufficient work pace to ensure a proper customer flow.
Must be thoroughly knowledgeable of technology used.
Cleans work area and dining room after shift (including sweeping and mopping and wiping tables) and maintains an orderly area.
Complies with Dining Services dress code.
Follows all cash management policies and procedures to ensure accountability of College funds.
Adheres to appropriate standards of behavior in the workplace.
Though hired into a specific working title or location, all employees of Food Operations are expected to support overall operations by: participating in cross-training, providing coverage during staff absences or special events, and being willing and able to perform additional, related duties and/or be reassigned to another work unit.

Requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be able to process customers in a quick and courteous manner.
Good math skills are essential.

Physical Demands
Must physically be able to lift 10-15 lbs. Must be able to push and pull up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Requires frequent overhead reaching and bending. This job requires long periods of time standing.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a high call volume and patient volume environment and enjoy working and learning in a variety of areas while providing excellent customer service. You'll be on the front line for creating a positive Scripps Health experience for our patients while being responsible for duties such as the following:

* Interacting with patients and providers to gather information for accurate registration. Assigning of Medical Record Number, appointment scheduling, point of service payment collection, document collection and check-out functions.
* Responding to customer billing and payment inquires.
* Effectively managing the check in or check out process, which includes identification verification; confirming demographic and insurance information; ensuring appropriate forms are provided, signed, and witnessed at the time of the patient visit and accurately preparing end of day reporting or payment reconciliation.
* Scheduling and confirming appointments in person or over the phone and entering appropriate insurance.
* Initiating and validating referrals/authorizations.
* Having a proactive approach to customer service by listening to the patient, taking ownership of solutions and being able to identify the need to involve leadership to resolve concerns.

These are benefitted Full Time, Day Shift positions with a Monday - Friday schedule (some roles may include rotating Saturday coverage). Occasional floating to other departments or sites may be required.

Required Qualifications:

* Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of computer applications, excellent mathematical skills and ability to handle monies.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Strong organizational and analytical skills; innovative with ability to identify and solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

* 1 year of experience in customer service or a healthcare/medical office environment preferred.
* Able to adapt, prioritize and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of medical terminology, commercial and government health insurance and billing guidelines, ACA requirements, understanding of DRG's, Medical ICD9/ICD10 codes and CPT/HCPC Codes and Modifiers.

**Summary**

The essential purpose of an SPC checker is to accurately perform and record preventative checks on in- process and finished products for defects. Will be required to perform AQL checks, retain product when necessary, and perform rechecks on failed product. Will also be required to perform and document various preventative checks on equipment and facility items. Will be required to communicate and notify production and QA leads and management of any issues that arise. Will be required to perform other various duties as needed for departmental operation.

**Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

To perform and record preventative checks on products, equipment, and facility items in assigned department.

To take appropriate action(s) for products, equipment, or facility items that do not meet acceptable levels.

To ensure quality products are being produced in the facility.

Associate must meet and maintain minimum requirements for premium positions.

**Minimum Education**

High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.

**Experience Requirements**

Preferred candidates will have been employed with Perdue Foods for at least 6 months. no actives disciplines and less than 2.5 occurrences on attendance record, however external candidates are considered.

**Experience Preferred**

Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.

**Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements**

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
