Cheekwood company history timeline
On May 31, 1960, Cheekwood opened its gates and doors to the public.
Many original dinner service sets were gifted back to Cheekwood by descendants of the family in 2005, some of which are on view today.
Cheekwood began the lengthy process of preparing and planning for a historic restoration of the mansion’s interior in 2012.
Those could not be located in the 2015 restoration, so museum staff opted to show portraits of beautiful ladies, a typical subject matter that would be found adorning the walls of the great country houses of England. • The true gem of the room is the sideboard whose purchase is in the Cheek records.
The restored and refurnished mansion opened to the public on June 17, 2017.
Over the summer months of 2019, the loggia is undergoing extensive conservation efforts.
