What You Do.
Creates new and exciting recipes, product applications and finished products for FSI customers and consumers.
Creates and presents exceptional menu concepts through customer and trend analysis for customer innovation presentations, culinary sessions and marketing campaigns
Independently develops and maintains relationships with key, strategic FSI customer chefs and has an excellent understanding of industry and customer specific trends
Stays updated on market trends relevant to the FSI business and actively brings forward opportunities that align with our innovation strategies
Leads Culinary development of samples including sample derivatives where customers are requesting a change in flavor profile or functionality
Collaborates with and provides additional product development support with R&D to meet customer requests
Provides external customer service to sales and marketing teams via customer site visits, problem solving, consultation and presentation.
Proactively leads culinary support on the commercialization of new product prototypes and product development problem solving.
Has a working knowledge of commercial ingredients for product development.
Represents Sargento at industry and community events and provides cross Business Unit support as needed
Provides Culinary expertise related to Sensory initiatives, product optimizations and sample development
Leads culinary execution of CEO product cuttings

Your Education and Experience.
Culinary Degree/Certification required (American Culinary Federation, RCA Certified Research Chef, Certified Culinary Scientist, etc.)
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Ten + years of combined experience with a food manufacturer and/or restaurant chain business (>50 stores).

Job Summary
Summary: Helps Executive Chef prepare and cook foods. Coordinates activities of cooks and other food-service associates. Assumes responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in the absence of Executive Chef.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards. Ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders.
Supervises hourly food service associates. Includes interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action, as appropriate.
Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.

Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Relays relevant information directly to supervisor.
Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers.
Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies. Tracks product production, consumption and waste. Informs supervisor when supplies or product are low.
