**Overview**

Element has an opportunity for **Chemist II-Bioassays** at our Ann Arbor, MI location. The Chemist II will develop analytical methods, perform testing using a variety of technologies and draw conclusions based upon analytical data. Work is performed under the supervision of the lab manager.

+ Performs techniques spanning across the entire spectrum of analytical chemistry from wet chemistry to HPLC, NMR, Mass Spectrometry, FTIR, GC and GC-MS

To produce chemical batches for wet wipe manufacturing, maintain chemical inventory, monitor and control performance on water purification system. This is a safety sensitive position.

This position primarily interacts with Operations, but also requires interaction with all support departments including but not limited to Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Human Resources.
Produce and maintain supply of wet wipe solution for production.

Receive Liquid Batch and produce Shop Orders through BPCS.

Issue raw materials to Shop Order through Warehouse Management System(WMS)

Enter Shop Ticket numbers into WMS and issue liquid to the Shop Ticket

Know and understand liquid transport system, label the piping, as well as maintain labeling as system changes

Monitor, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on Ultra Purified Water(UPW) system.

Maintain computer records on liquid lots and production yields.

Able to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Drawings(P&ID) or blueprints.

Assist production with the sanitization of equipment

Maintain cleaning and sanitization logs for the compounding room

Know and understand waste water permit requirements

Test and discharge waste water

Verify accuracy of flow meters used with the compounding systems

Maintain forklift certification and knowledge of forklift operator responsibilities

Good math skills, ability to understand, interpret, and follow batch instructions. Good Communication skills, Adaptable to and positive toward change. Ability to work in a team-focused environment. Must be able to lift 50lbs.
