Case Western Reserve University is a private research university located in Cleveland, Ohio. We seek outstanding candidates to establish an internationally recognized, competitively funded individual research program in cellular and molecular engineering research AND who have a strong vision for future research within our rich community. The research areas of interest include but are not exclusive to: (1) vaccine development to modulate autoimmune or inflammatory conditions, (2) gene editing and gene therapy targeted at immunomodulation, (3) microbiome genome/epigenome engineering to promote control of the immune system, (4) biomaterial-mediated approaches to facilitate immune regulation, and (5) general plans related to multiple systems biology tools, such as proteomics, metabolomics, transcriptomics, and immunology.
Clinical translation is a major goal of our program, so previous experience working on clinical applications is strongly preferred. Job Overview
The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for multiple full-time tenure-track faculty positions in the Mechanical Engineering Program.
Candidates in two broad areas in mechanical engineering will be considered: (1) Mechanics -experimental, theoretical, and/or computational mechanics. Areas of interest include but are not limited to fracture, inelasticity, energy materials, soft materials, and bio-mechanics. (2) Vibrations and Acoustics - areas of interest include smart materials and structures, vibration and noise control, metamaterials, nonlinear dynamics, rotor dynamics, MEMS/NEMS, structural health monitoring, and biomedical acoustics.
Essential Functions
* Teach graduate and undergraduate engineering courses specific to their specialty areas (as noted above) and participate in course and curriculum development.
* Develop externally funded research programs in their specialty areas (as noted above), publish research results in professional journals, and advise graduate and undergraduate students.

Location, Hourly, and Other Expectations
This position is based in Palo Alto, CA, or fully remote.
The Palo Alto option is an in-office role requiring 5 days per week; remote positions require strong self-motivation.
