**PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION**

Serve as the process owner and administrator for assigned Chemistry and Environmental decommissioning planning. Support Rad Protection in development of site assessment and Rad Shipping during decommissioning. Responsible, in conjunction with the RadPro Lead, for developing and implementation of the site characterization plan and support subsequent development of demolition and restoration planning Develops relationships with site personnel, corporate peers, and stakeholders Subject matter expert responsible for working with industry trade groups and regulatory agencies to influence environmental programs, projects and regulations Provide a leadership role in the supervision of activities and projects during decommissioning with regards to Chemistry and Environmental aspects.

**Annual Salary starting from: $104,400**

**PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**

+ Support development of Decommissioning plans, providing experience as SME for Chemistry and Environmental aspects (50%)

+ Lead and provide support for Chemistry related projects. (30%)

+ Participate and facilitate planning meetings for site decommissioning. (10%)

+ Support negotiating with regulatory officials to obtain approvals, permits, certifications, and licenses relating to Environmental projects, pollution control systems, or waste management activities (10%)

**JOB SCOPE**

**Qualifications**

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

+ Assessment Center Qualification and 4 year chemistry or related degree and 6 years plant experience OR

+ Achieved Chemistry Technician qualification with at least 5 years in chemistry and a minimum of 9 years plant experience OR

+ 4 year technical degree and 5 years of non-plant experience

+ Have a thorough understanding of rules and regulations associated with NPDES permits, RCRA regulations, DOT shipment of hazardous wastes, OSHA HAZWOPPER, OSHA chemical safety and hazmat.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

+ Chemistry or Chem Eng Degree

+ Supervisory experience

+ FLS Certification

**How will we make an impact?**

As a member of ULS Chemical Management Services, you'll be working with a close-knit team of six fellow Sr Site Specialists, a Team Lead, and a Supervisor. + Coordinate and perform the transport of chemicals and hazardous packages across campus with various tools such as transport buckets and/or push carts

+ Maintain chemical stockrooms which include returning chemicals to stockrooms, upholding safe chemical storing practices, and performing safety inspections

+ Provide customer service and work well with various levels of the customer's organization through different methods (phone, email, text, video, messaging, etc.)

+ Review, maintain, and build company data reports

**Education and Experience**

+ High school diploma or equivalent required

+ 2-4 year college degree is preferred

+ Prior professional experience in a relevant field may be considered in lieu of a degree

Summary

As a Chemical Specialist, you will interact directly with customers in the Food Service and Laundry industries.
