The EAD K-12 Unit is looking for individuals with an earned PhD or EdD who are interested in serving as an adjunct instructor for the unit. We are seeking a pool of candidates that would step into a teaching role on an as-needed basis for our MA, PhD and EdD programs.
Due to the vast array of responsibilities that exist for our faculty, there are times where additional instructors are needed. The ideal candidate would be someone who is interested in gaining graduate level teaching experience in a variety of courses. We are also seeking a candidate who is well versed in teaching adults.
Responsibilities
The candidates hired for an adjunct position at MSU will be the instructor of record for one of our Masters, Ed.D or Ph.D level courses on an as needed basis. The syllabus will be provided to the instructor for the course being taught. The adjunct will be entirely responsible for carrying out the syllabus that the faculty member developed for the course; teaching class sessions, grading assignments, maintaining the course website, maintaining ongoing communication with students, and determining and submitting students' final grades.

We are looking for someone with an earned doctorate who has considerable experience in school leadership, ideally having served as a school principal or district leader. Applicants should also have strong written and spoken communication skills and be personable and reliable.
Assistant Professor must have a PhD, Instructor rank must have a Master's Degree, and Assistant Instructor rank must have a Bachelor's Degree.
Desired Qualifications
The ideal applicant also has experience teaching in the higher education setting and teaching in an online format.

Position Summary
The Director of Rural Medicine Programs plays a key leadership role in the development, direction, and management of MSU-CHM's rural medicine pathways, ensuring successful recruitment, admissions, and curricular programming for the Rural Community Health Program (RCHP), Rural Physician Program (RPP), and Rural Premedical Internship Program (R-PIPE). This position also provides faculty support, student mentorship, and coordinates outreach initiatives to enhance the college's rural medicine efforts. Roles and Responsibilities
45% Program Development and Leadership
* Direct and support the MSU-CHM Leadership in Rural Medicine programs, including the Rural Community Health Program (RCHP), Rural Physician Program (RPP), and Rural Premedical Internship Program (R-PIPE), covering recruitment, admissions, curricular and extracurricular programming, mentorship, and marketing.
* Develop and implement recruitment strategies for rural campus initiatives and the Leadership in Rural Medicine Programs.
* Collaborate within MSU-CHM's rural campus system to foster partnerships with faculty, students, staff, rural health systems, and rural communities across Michigan.
* Support rural pre-matriculation programs by assisting with recruitment and programming initiatives that prepare students for rural medical education.
* Work collaboratively within MSU-CHM's rural campus system to support partnerships with faculty, students, staff, rural health systems, and rural communities throughout the state.
35% Instruction, Mentorship, and Faculty Development
* Develop and direct all LRM certificate programming and courses and provide small group leadership for the RCHP cohort and R-PIPE program.
* Recruit and train faculty to support rural certificate programming and lead small group activities for RCHP and other rural-related courses.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to students in rural programs, ensuring their academic and professional development in rural medicine.
* Partner with the Director of Rural Mission Pathways to align and enhance shared programming.
* Serve as the Instructor of Record for all certificate programming and courses, as a small group RCHP leader, instructor for R-PIPE programming, and provide education re: rural disparities and rural medical education to all students.
20% Outreach, Partnerships, and Research
* Serve as a college representative to external partners including colleges and universities, students, health system partners, and communities to strengthen partnerships, develop shared initiatives, and advance the reputation of MSU-CHM's Leadership in Rural Medicine Programs.
* Lead statewide and national outreach efforts, advocating for and raising awareness of MSU-CHM's rural programs through scholarship, advocacy, and leadership.
* Collaborate with MSU-CHM Advancement to develop and promote rural scholarship opportunities and strategic partnerships.
* Conduct research to advance the national reputation of MSU-CHM's rural programming and improve rural healthcare education.

Job Information:

A full-time Clinical Faculty member in the School of Respiratory Care's BSRC Degree Advancement Program has the primary responsibility of teaching online students. As the course delivery is online, the faculty member may function remotely. Active engagement in School, College, and University service can be accomplished by web conferences, Google Docs, and periodic visits to the campus in Boise, ID. They will be the lead faculty, and content expert for selected courses and will be responsible for performing quality improvement tasks every semester to ensure the highest quality online courses are being delivered.
As lead faculty, they will be expected to be highly responsive to students of the program as a faculty advisor and promote the high quality of customer service that our School adheres to. For this 11-month Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor position, the workload is typically 20% service and 80% teaching. The CCP-ACF member participates collaboratively and professionally with other faculty and staff to promote the general well-being of the department and the college and of the collective and individual interests of its staff and student body. The contracted faculty member supports and seeks always to fulfill the guiding concepts for the College embodied in the philosophy, mission, values and vision adopted by the Board of Trustees. The primary function of this position is to teach dedicated College Credit Plus courses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Instruction & Student Learning
Teaches assigned courses as scheduled and assumes primary responsibility for and exercises oversight of the curriculum in conjunction with the Department's policies, ensuring both the rigor of programs and the quality of instruction.
Designs curriculum embracing different forms to foster talent in students while modeling comprehensive teaching strategies with an understanding of the sociocultural issues of traditionally underrepresented groups.
Considers individual differences of students in order to design and support a range of appropriate learning activities.
Participates in the identification of students with academic or other needs and responds by utilizing an appropriate resource.
Uses technology in a manner appropriate to the nature and objectives of courses and programs and communicates clearly to students the expectations concerning the use of such technology.
Keeps accurate and appropriate records in accordance with the Faculty Handbook and departmental policies.
Maintains attendance records, determines and submits grades timely, and in accordance with established policies and procedures of the College, and communicates progress feedback as well as other relevant information to students throughout the semester.
Create and maintain accurate syllabi that incorporate departmental, college, cross-college, and instructor requirements.
Participates in the selection of appropriate materials to support the course curriculum in accordance with the College's guidelines.
Conducts classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule.
Employs and assists in the design and development of appropriate assessment techniques to measure students' performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
Enhances learning using appropriate digital and online resources.
Student Engagement & Advisement
Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and support for learners.
Maintains posted office hours in accordance with departmental and policies of the College.
Uses technology to assist in communication with students. Encourages a sense of community among students for learning both inside and outside the classroom.
Advises potential or current students within the discipline about the program, career, or transfer options available to assist with degree completion.
Refers students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community.
Continuous Improvement
Promotes continual improvement as part of the cycle of teaching and learning by: assisting, as appropriate, in the maintenance of instructional materials and laboratory facilities; contributing, as appropriate, to the development, selection, and improvement of instructional materials, laboratories, and other instructional facilities; providing guidance in the development, maintenance, and design of course description, course outlines, and syllabi; recommending modifications to the curriculum and participating in the design of new curricula.
Completes all mandatory performance evaluation measures within specified time limits and participates in all required training by the College.
Shares best practices with colleagues in formal or informal settings. Participates in instructional, departmental, or institutional research to improve educational effectiveness.
Evaluates teaching and assessment practices to continue improving them. Provides feedback, as appropriate, regarding the general operations of the department, division, and the College.
Participates, as appropriate, in the interviewing, selection, and orientation processes of department faculty and staff.
Provides advice and/or assistance to faculty within the department, division, or College.
Attends faculty meetings as called by the President, Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dean, or Department Chairperson; and participates, as appropriate, on departmental and divisional committees.
Professional Development
Employs student, administrative, and self-appraisals to establish goals and objectives for professional development, and participates in professional development activities.
Contributes, as appropriate, to the planning, evaluation, and/or presentation of college professional development programs.
Maintains required professional credentials, licensing, and continuing education hours as disciplinary standards dictate.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in the discipline of chemistry from an accredited college or university.

This position will teach courses at Marysville ECHS, Marysville HS, and other high school locations as needed.
State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
