Under the direction of the Extended Learning Specialist and/or Lead Tutor, the position of part time Tutor is responsible to provide intensive and extensive tutorial services. The Part Time Tutor position includes tutoring Kindergarten through 8th grade students in the content subjects of Mathematics and Reading. Instruction and activities are designed expressly to prepare students for standardized achievement test and to teach study skills. Activities may include practicing different types of test questions or taking practice tests. Tutoring services can occur after school or before school. Must be 18 years or older and meet academic standards for tutoring and demonstrate competence in analyzing student's academic needs and effectively provide solutions and support in assisting the student to reach their academic potential. Must complete all necessary trainings. Must possess an understanding and knowledge of public school functions, as well as, specific knowledge in age-appropriate curriculum. At the Partnership we support teachers through weekly school-based professional development, network-wide PD meetings, coaching and feedback sessions from school-site leadership, and nationally recognized partner organizations -Teach like a Champion (TLaC), Amplify, Core Knowledge, etc. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Developing a positive and structured classroom environment that engages students and motivates them to succeed Assuming responsibility for the academic progress of students with a high sense of urgency and ownership toward quantifiable results Collaborating with colleagues Fulfilling the school's mission to educate the whole child, mind, body, and spirit Taking accountability for student learning and for meeting classroom performance goals Creating and communicating with families of students in a positive and respectful manner Participating in ongoing professional developments sessions to grow as an instructional leader The ideal candidate will have: A deep respect for and commitment to preserving and building upon the legacy of urban Catholic education Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers both school-wide and across the network A willingness to be reflective and receive feedback in order to grow as an educator Technological proficiency and adaptability Excellent communication skills Flexibility to multi-task, coupled with the ability to set priorities and follow through with results Relentlessness and willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure success Position Requirements: Respect for and appreciation of the Catholic faith and Catholic education An uncompromising belief that all students can learn Bachelor's degree preferred, not required Prior teaching experience preferred Must pass a background check Compensation: This position is classified as part-time, salaried. Salary will be determined based on years of experience and number of hours worked per week, starting at $16,800 annually for a two day per week schedule and 0 years classroom teaching experience.
