A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SWIM AND FITNESS OPERATIONS INTERN We depend on you as our Swim and Fitness Operations Intern to help oversee member services and the general day-to-day operations of our aquatic and fitness centers. You oversee and assist shift workflow including opening and closing the aquatic facilities and ensuring lifeguards are rotating on time and are on task. The aquatic and fitness spaces are always safe and clean due to your dedication to providing exceptional experiences for our members. You clean, sanitize, organize, remove trash, and stock towels, beverages, equipment, and other supplies. As you maintain a continuous presence on the pool deck, you are able to build strong professional relationships with members and staff. Additionally, you oversee, assist, and inspect the seasonal pools. Your management skills are essential as you help with swim and fitness programs and events, including pool parties, swim team practices, meets, and social events. In this internship, you also have the opportunity to be cross-trained. This allows you to assist or relieve fitness receptionists, pool kiosk attendants, and locker room attendants as needed. You may even step in for Operations Managers at certain times. Position Overview: Reporting to Director - Events, this position will assist in the planning and execution of events including but not limited to the All Comers Track & Field series, Braves Country 5K and Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race. This position will help drive operational and logistical plans leading up to, on and after event days. Shakespeare Intensive for Teens Internships: The two Shakespeare Intensive for Teens Interns will assist in Shakespeare Intensive for Teens (SIT), which is an audition-based student summer program for teenagers, who rehearse and perform a Shakespeare play and gain pre-professional training in performing Shakespeare.
