This position is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, delivery and evaluation of health education and wellness programs and materials that help support the health and wellbeing of individuals and groups within our community. The position will take a direct role in designing, implementing and evaluating health improvement and promotion programs, resources and materials. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, provide nursing unit with efficient and appropriate assistance with selected patient and unit needs. May also perform a variety of clerical duties and various tasks to provide a well-supplied, safe, and clean patient unit. Under the administrative direction of the Chief Therapist, and the clinical direction of the Radiation Oncologist, assists in the treatment and care of Kingsbury Center for Cancer Care patients. Administers prescribed radiation treatment, prepares patients in exam rooms and assists the Radiation Oncologist with medical examinations. Prepares patients, rooms, and equipment for treatment and simulations and assists the Radiation Oncologist with simulations. Under the supervision of the EKG/EEG/ECHO Supervisor and following established technical standards, this position provides ultrasound images of the heart and related structures of patients of all ages for physician interpretation. The Echocardiographer must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, be capable of gathering and assessing information relative to the patient's age-specific needs, and provide the care needed to achieve the desired clinical outcomes.
