    We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team part-time on an as-needed (PRN) basis. This role is based out of our Maryville office and is essential in supporting individuals during moments of emotional crisis, promoting recovery through trauma-informed care, and connecting people to vital community resources. Responsibilities Deliver crisis intervention services, including assessments, safety planning, and referrals. Complete documentation promptly-100% of assessments and safety plans at time of service; 80% of progress notes within 24 hours. Support individuals through court-ordered assessments, group services (e.g., anger management, parenting), and case management. Use recovery-oriented language and practices that emphasize hope, empowerment, and self-direction. Collaborate with hospitals, law enforcement, and natural support systems to maintain strong community relationships. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions. Provide after-hours crisis support as assigned. Maintain confidentiality and uphold the organization's standards for customer service excellence. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and five years' supervised mental health experience; Or a bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, education, psychology or related human service field; Or a bachelor's degree in any other field with 2 years' supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting; Or a certificate of psychiatric rehabilitation from a DHS-approved program plus a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years' experience in providing mental health services; Or a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) in good standing with the State of Illinois. Valid driver's license, private auto insurance, and insurability. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic medical records (EMR). ESSENTIAL DUTIES Offer training, consultation, technical assistance services to childcare providers and the families they serve that reflect the need of the communities served within the program area based on needs assessment & focus group results. Topics may include but are not limited to: Behavioral issues, Violence/trauma, Abuse/neglect, Cultural, Communicating with parents, Adult/family problems. Each established program area will offer a minimum of 20 training workshops annually at least 1 ½ hours in length and at times/locations convenient to childcare practitioners. Each established program area's Consultant will conduct a minimum of 200 on-site visits annually to childcare programs to provide services. Provide a linkage between the childcare field and the mental health field by offering consultation services, technical assistance, and trainings to childcare practitioners to fill identified gaps in services to children and families with social/emotional challenges. Offer training/consultation services with the goal of increasing childcare provider competency levels when working with children and families in addressing social/emotional health, which will, in turn, reduce disenrollment from childcare programs. Provide appropriate referrals to outside agencies in the social, mental health and health areas based on individual identified needs of children &/or families. Partner with the local CCR&R, Child Care Nurse Consultant and Infant Toddler Specialist to identify prospective providers and determine site-specific needs for mental health promotion, consultation and services. Conduct outreach in partnership with CCR&R, local social service agencies, childcare provider groups, etc. Use available data and provider evaluations to determine future training needs within each program. Promote Recovery Model: Advocate for harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and self-directed recovery by utilizing recovery language in documentation and interactions. Holistic Referrals: Provide referrals, linkage, and advocacy to community resources and services that address clients' mental health, substance use, and primary care needs. Community Engagement: Foster positive interactions within Chestnut and with external stakeholders, including family members, probation officers, DCFS case workers, and court personnel, to maintain a favorable program reputation. Professional Development: Attend all meetings and trainings and meet ICB's GCE requirements within two years of hire. Skill Building: Demonstrate proficiency in evidence-based practices such as Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) and Motivational Intervening, with a focus on women-specific EBPs. Customer Service Excellence: Adhere to Chestnut's behavioral standards to promote a culture of customer service excellence.
