Responsibilities Accurately post payments received from insurance companies and clients, applying contractual discounts as needed. Ensure proper allocation of payments, co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance, while maintaining balance across all accounts. Process denials with appropriate coding (CPT, ICD~9/10, HCPC), and route claims for follow-up. Assist with write-offs as directed by leadership and maintain organized filing systems for the Revenue Cycle department. Collaborate with team members and participate in meetings to support overall department success. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required, with a minimum of one year of experience in an office clerical or customer service environment. Responsibilities * Complete all required documentation and data entry in accordance with agency and program standards, including but not limited to LOCUS, IM-CANS, HRA/PHA, and progress notes. - Ensure 100% of IM-CANS are completed prior to due dates. - Submit progress notes and other required paperwork within 48 hours of service delivery. * Provide services identified in the IM-CANS to meet consumer needs and program requirements, including: - Maintaining required service levels and timely completion of authorizations. - Delivering clinical services such as community support, case management, therapy, and medication training. - Supporting a clean, safe, and healthy living environment for residents. - Providing services in the most effective setting, including consumers' apartments or community locations. - Linking consumers to additional clinical and community resources as needed. - Completing clinical screenings of new tenant housing referrals when assigned. * Promote the recovery model of treatment by assisting consumers in achieving self-directed recovery and incorporating trauma-informed care principles such as hope, empowerment, and respect. * Maintain positive relationships within Chestnut and with community partners including hospitals, courts, medical offices, and social service agencies to ensure coordinated, high-quality care. * Complete and maintain accurate documentation to meet housing funder requirements, including attendance and census tracking. * Provide referrals, advocacy, and linkage to essential community resources such as healthcare, food, financial aid, and housing supports. * Participate in meetings, case staffings, and program development activities. Provide backup and support to other team members as needed. - Attend 100% of required supervision (Rule 132) if not an LPHA. - Complete all mandatory Chestnut trainings and continuing education requirements through Relias. * Utilize evidence-based practices focused on skill-building, therapy, and recovery support for individuals, families, and groups. * Take a leadership role on assigned projects and initiatives. * Uphold Chestnut's culture of customer service excellence by adhering to organizational behavioral standards. * Protect the confidentiality of all client and organizational information at all times. Qualifications * Education and Experience (one of the following): - Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field; or - Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with 2+ years of behavioral health experience; or - High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of social service or peer experience; or - High school diploma or equivalent with CRSS or CPRS certification (in good standing with the State of Illinois). * Proficient in basic computer applications including Microsoft Word and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). * Valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and insurability required. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. * Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices. Responsibilities Answer Calls: Handle a high volume of incoming and outgoing calls professionally, using trauma-informed principles to support consumers. Screening and Scheduling: Screen consumers for demographic information, complete clinical screenings, schedule appointments, and verify benefit coverage. Documentation: Accurately enter information into the electronic health records (EHR) and other databases, ensuring timely and appropriate documentation. Customer Service: Maintain a positive and supportive attitude in all interactions, ensuring consumer needs are met effectively. Quality Improvement: Participate in data gathering and quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery. Team Support: Attend meetings, provide backup support to team members, and promote a culture of customer service excellence. Qualifications Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with 5 years' experience working in the area of admissions, scheduling or screening potential intakes for services in mental health or human services; or a Bachelor's degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, education, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, family therapy, or related human service fields; or a Bachelor's degree in any other field with 2 years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting; or a Master's degree in a helping profession or related administrative area. Excellent telephone skills with the ability to handle a high volume of calls. Effective communication skills with employees, consumers/potential consumers, support systems, and other community contacts. Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to use sound judgment. Ability to respond and communicate effectively and calmly in conflict-related or emotional situations. Good keyboarding skills, including preferred data entry experience in various databases such as electronic health records (EHR) or electronic billing systems. General knowledge of standard office procedures and use of office equipment, including: Filing (electronic and physical) Basic word processing Operating copier, fax, and scanning equipment Ability to sit through an entire work shift while answering a telephone wearing a headset and performing data entry.
