What you'll be challenged to do
As a Rope Access - Bridge Inspector, you will step into work that strengthens transportation networks and supports safe travel for communities across the country. Rope access inspection gives you a front row view of complex structures and offers a path to grow your technical skills while working on projects that shape daily movement for millions of people. This role opens doors to advanced inspection methods, exposure to complex bridges and structures, and steady support from mentors who guide your development within GFT. We are seeking bridge inspection engineers who currently hold a SPRAT Level I certification with the ability and desire to progress in this role. This hybrid role offers flexibility in where you live and work while keeping you connected to our National Bridge Inspection Team. Frequent travel is required.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Assist with field inspection work using rope access methods (SPRAT)
* Support rope access setup, equipment checks, and basic rescue planning
* Record inspection notes and photographs with clear detail
* Help prepare inspection reports
* Work closely with team leaders and project managers to complete inspection tasks
* Coordinate day-to-day field activities
* Maintain and organize inspection gear
* Travel throughout the United States for inspection assignments
What you will bring to our firm:
* Associate's degree in engineering related field or High School degree with technical training
* SPRAT Level I certification
* Experience operating bucket trucks, manlifts, or under-bridge inspection vehicles
* One year of rope access experience on bridges

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $74,000 -$145,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.

General Summary

Job Description
A Sr. Mobile Inspector functions as an advanced member of the Manheim mobile inspections team for a designated region with the primary responsibilities of conducting vehicle condition inspections a client's lot. Their core skill is to provide accurate and complete documentation of overall vehicle condition within the parameters of a Manheim inspection. This position will build trust with clients, engage to help them see the value in the Manheim Marketplace, and to request more inventory to be inspected by providing quality and timely inspections.
As a Sr. Mobile Inspector, this role is expected to work with little guidance and can solve problems with minimal oversight. They will assist with junior inspectors as they gain inspection experience and build client relationships.
This inspector must reside in Bronx, NY. To be considered for this position, you must currently hold - or be willing to obtain - a NY State Body Damage Estimator license and/or a NY State Independent Auto Damage & Theft Adjuster license. If your certification has expired, you can also become re-certified to meet the qualifications for this role.
Primary Duties & Key Responsibilities
Conduct a thorough vehicle inspection at an expert level.
Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer/clients' lot safely.
Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system to correct VIN, mileage, and sub series.
Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting results including damage, missing or inoperable items.
Inspect and record vehicle exterior condition, including but not limited to tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.

Perform basic mechanical checks on vehicles including powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

Conduct a thorough vehicle inspection at an expert level.
Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer/clients' lot safely.
Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system to correct VIN, mileage, and sub series.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

You will act as the Inspector-In-Charge for a highway construction project that involves a limited scope of work operations, or you may assist on a larger project by managing specific assigned tasks. Additionally, you will supervise the inspection process to verify that materials and workmanship meet the contract requirements as well as the established standards and specifications, ensuring the integrity and quality of the construction work.

* Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
* One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
* Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
* An equivalent combination of experience and training.
