Job Summary
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for the management and supervision of Staff of the clinical treatment areas, including External Beam Radiation Therapy,
Simulation, Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy/Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Brachytherapy, and Proton Therapy Programs. Coordinates the
daily technical operations of the radiation oncology centers across the TGH system. Works with the physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and
clinical operational managers and staff to ensure that the treatment area runs efficiently, and patients are treated in a timely manner.
Supports the directors in implementing new policies and procedures as well as in attaining departmental and organizational goals. Also
required to demonstrate leadership and have the ability to make decisions and solve problems as they arise. Responsible for the
implementation and continuous review of clinical practice standards as it relates to external beam treatment delivery and Brachytherapy.
Balances clinical responsibilities (80%) with managerial responsibilities (20%). Associates of the TGH/RO team must be committed to the
mission. Enforces established departmental codes and procedures within the hospitals across the TGH system. Manage, supervise, and
coordinate delivery of patient care for all Radiation Oncology patient treatment areas across the Tampa General Hospital system. Ensure
compliance with clinical patient care standards and established policies and procedures. Plan, schedule, and organize work for the group
ensuring proper distribution and delegation of assignments and efficient utilization of personnel, space, and facilities. Actively supports and
promotes a professional model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards. Openly support and consistently
communicate the vision and mission of the department and organization. Functions as liaison between therapists, physicians, physicists,
dosimetrists, nurses, administration, patients, and students, promoting harmonious relations and favorable attitudes among the health care

Qualifications Required Skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program, B. S degree, Master's Degree (preferred)
● 3-5 years of management experience
● Be knowledgeable regarding human anatomy
● Be able to physically assist patients entering and exiting the treatment area, as well as be able to successfully pass basic radiation
safety training
● Be responsible and present well, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills with all patients, visitors and management staff
● Demonstrate excellent communication skills
● EMR systems: Aria, Epic (Preferred)
● Varian Linacs (Required), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy/Stereotactic Radiosurgery (Preferred) and Proton therapy (Preferred)
