Child Care Job Details:
Provide safe and enjoyable childcare for members and their infants, toddlers, pre-school and school age children. Child Watch is a member service that provides a safe and fun environment for the care of children while parents/caregivers use the YMCA facilities. It is the expectation that all Child Watch Team Members are committed to providing a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on belonging while building relationships among youth and within families.
Day In The Life of a Child Care Staff:
* In cooperation with other staff members, plans, leads and supervises the activities of children in a variety of indoor/outdoor settings
* Effectively communicates with members, parents, and children. Develops positive and professional relationships with parents and participants providing motivational support and guidance
* Identifies individual needs of children and provides care accordingly
* Encourages and involves children in appropriate group and/or individual play
* Models and explains appropriate behavior. Addresses and redirects inappropriate behavior of children
* Maintains participant attendance, emergency records and other documentation as assigned
* Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures
* Responds seriously and confidentiality to suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and follows mandated reporting requirements related to abuse
* Ensure safety and cleanliness of equipment and facilities
