As an Educator, you will:
Partner with the Program Manager to deliver dynamic Right At School curriculum, support homework completion, lead fun fitness activities and guide children safely through all activities.
Engage youth in academic and social enrichment activities that expand & enhance school day learning in a meaningful way. Some tasks associated with this role can be more physical in nature as you are interacting with children and they keep you on your toes.
Be asked to kneel, run, to lift up to 25 lbs and have a lot of fun while doing so.
Actively partner and communicate effectively with parents in order to provide the best child care for their children.
Model positive behaviors as you sit with children to help with learning, walk around to manage the classroom and maintain safety and stay active throughout the day while leading activities.
Organize program materials for lessons and activities, as well as document attendance, incidents, and other observation.
Regularly check in with the Program Manager regarding personal and child performance metrics
Requirements
High school diploma/GED required
Teachers who have experience working with children AND/OR college credits in early childhood/elementary/related field
Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills
Individuals who work well in a team environment
Excellent communication skills with varied audience including children, parents, staff and school personnel
Ability to meet state-specific requirements; FA/CPR, Mandated Reporter, Cleared TB

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The Licensing Coordinator functions primarily as the key person in developing, training, and licensing a robust network of highly competent treatment foster parents to meet the demands of treatment foster care referrals.
- Develops and implements a plan for recruiting and licensing an adequate number of quality foster parents to meet the needs of the program.
- Maintains a list of prospective foster parents, including referral source and contact information.
- Develops and implements a training schedule for the local area.
- Ensures that all the required training topics are offered locally on a regular basis.
- Ensures that additional training classes are offered to enhance and build quality-parenting skills.
- Maintains tracking of family training to ensure families are in compliance with training requirements.
- Provides support to foster parents with on-going communication and quarterly visits.
- Conducts background checks including SBI criminal background (fingerprints), MVR, DOC, Healthcare Personnel Registry, Sex Offender Registry, RIL and others required by NCDSS and ESUCP.
- Completes and submits all licensing paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintains family licensing files to ensure audit readiness.
- Maintains an informed knowledge of North Carolina DSS licensure regulations.
- Implements and enforces state regulations for the Department of Social Services and Mental Health with licensure, re-licensure and all job duties.
- Engages in opportunities for professional growth through classes offered by the state, ESUCP, conferences, on-line or through other means.
- Participates in internal, regional and cross regional peer record reviews.
- Is qualified as a Pressley Ridge and Together Facing the Challenge Instructor.
- Provides internal training of staff as needed.

- Participates in on-call rotation for routine and emergency situations. Responds to emergency/crisis situations as needed during the day, night, holidays and weekends.
- Expands and promotes child residential services by conducting presentations to agencies not familiar with the services provided.
- Maintains a caseload of 24-32 licensed homes for a FT position.
