Purpose and Scope
Under the general supervision of the teacher/director, the teacher assistant will assist the classroom teacher in the supervision and instruction of students. The teacher assistant is responsible to help provide a well-organized, smoothly functional class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

· Performing other responsibilities, as directed. This will include: lunch duty, recess duty and climate counseling.
· Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor or Administrative staff.
· Attend all aides meetings and professional development activities.
· Record arrival time before entering classroom on Electronic Time Card in school office.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent, AND
2. Associate's Degree, OR
3. 60 hours of college/university level course work, OR
4. Demonstrated proficiency on State assessment.
