. The Tustin Family Campus program is an 18 month residential treatment program serving 15 mothers with up to 32 children. All residents have open Child and Family Service cases in the County of Orange. These mothers are working to reunify with their children while at the same time addressing their histories with addiction and mental health. Our treatment team works closely with Orange County Social Services, Orange County Mental Health and Family Court to ensure successful case plan completion and reunification. Clients receive substance abuse counseling and education, counseling and education in parenting and life skills as well as individual and group therapy for both mothers and children. The goal for our clients is that they graduate with custody of their children, affordable housing and a steady income. The Childcare Parenting Specialist will assist with the Parenting Skills Program, a family centered program, which has the goal of helping parents to provide a healthy and safe environment for their children and to maximize their children's emotional and cognitive development. Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the Child Care Parenting Specialist are as followed: Provide 1:1 counseling to each client, introducing behavioral approaches to child guidance. You are passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential. With strong creative and problem-solving skills, you love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging classroom environment. Montessori experience is preferred but not required. Must have completed AT LEAST one Early Childhood Education class and be willing to complete three more classes. Responsibilities Assist children with developing social and emotional skills Teach children self care skills Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques Communicate with parents and other school personnel Qualifications * Must have at least 3 Early Childhood Education Units (ECE) and must be willing to complete 12 units Excellent verbal communication skills Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines Problem-solving and mediation skills
