WORK SCHEDULE 8:45am - 5:45pm Monday-Friday We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Floating Assistant Teacher to join our team. The position may vary by classroom, but you can expect to assist in activities planned by the Lead Teacher and run some "behind the scenes" activities that help the classroom run smoothly while the Lead Teacher plans, prepares, and executes lesson. Some important behind the scenes activities include preparing meals and snacks, cleaning up after meals and snacks, diaper changing or assisting in the bathroom, and cleaning the room at the end of the day to prepare for the next school day. Another important job is talking to parents at pick up to tell them how their child's day was and answer any classroom related questions they may have. Job Description An Infant/Toddler Assistant Caregiver is an individual who assists the lead in helping ensure that each and every one of our student's individual needs are met. The assistant must have a passion for serving young children. The assistant must be willing to take directives from a supervising lead and/or building administrator. The Assistant will be asked to engage in a wide variety of events during the day-to-day workings of the school, ranging from, but not limited t,o assisting children in daily activities, feeding, learn self-care routines (bathroom, hygiene, etc.), and facilitating play and language development. The classroom assistant will also be asked to assist in diapering, cleaning, and sanitization routines in order to comply with the regulations of a licensed Childcare Facility. Hours: 6:15AM -12:15PM, Monday-Friday, 12 months (open year round) Duties Provide care to meet children's basic needs as well as supporting learning experiences Assists in maintaining an environment, routine, and structure to support and care for all children and their own individual needs Routinely acknowledges children and provides positive attention in varying ways Ensures each child is challenged to move towards the next level of independence Wipe down / sanitize equipment or materials prior to and after a student uses the item(s) Assist students during classroom activities, meals, rest times, snacks, diapering, and play Maintain constant supervision of students assigned to him/her and assure student safety Provide support and ongoing communication with the supervising teacher, completing assigned tasks from classroom lead and director Communicate with families in a positive manner regarding their child's day. Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position. Complies with Indiana's Licensed Childcare Center regulations Complete required training including annual first aid/CPR, health and safety, and others as deemed necessary for the position. Salary: $13.00 Hourly The Substitute Teacher is responsible for supporting student learning across various classroom settings from Early Education through Elementary School. This includes following lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and ensuring that students are well-supported in their academic and social development. JOB SUMMARY: The Christel House DORS Drop In Childcare is designed to offer free, temporary, short-term childcare for the students of Christel House DORS. Our ultimate goal is for the parents/guardians to work with Drop In Childcare staff to apply for CCDF vouchers or On My Way Pre-K to secure long term, high quality childcare if qualified. DORS students may use the drop in childcare center only while on site, attending a Christel House class, training, or program. Parents/guardians remain on campus while their child(ren) are in the drop in childcare. The Drop In Childcare Attendant is responsible for ensuring a safe, caring, and positive experience for all children in the drop in center and their families. They will be an active collaborator with other DORS staff, providing the DORS team with data on attendance, CCDF applications, etc. The attendant monitors the safety and well-being of children while in their care, while facilitating learning opportunities for the students. The attendance is responsible for communicating with parents/guardians about drop in childcare center events, activities, policies and procedures.
