Responsibilities:
● Greet each child by name and acknowledge parents during drop off and pick up times daily.
● Ensure the safety of each child.
● Maintain confidentiality of school directives, curriculum and software.
● Read, understand and implement all policies and procedures of The Gardner School and all State Licensing Agencies.
● Maintain professional and positive relationships with the parents and coworkers.
● Advise the Director or Assistant Director of any supplies needed for the upcoming months.
● Follow the standards set forth for the conduct and responsibilities of all staff members who come in contact with children.

What You'll Do:Support Curriculum Implementation:

The Lake Area Discovery Center has served pre-kindergarten students ages 6 weeks to 5 years in the White Bear Lake/Forest Lake/Stillwater Community for the past 25 years. Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development coursework preferred; willingness to pursue additional education required for advancement
Previous experience working with young children preferred
Experience in a classroom, childcare center, church education program, or similar setting beneficial
Ability to assist with supervising children throughout the day, including activities, playtime, transitions, meals, and snacks
Ability to support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and learning activities
Ability to assist with classroom management and help maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, coworkers, and families
Patient, positive attitude with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Ability to follow program philosophy and align with Lake Area Discovery Center's mission and values
CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain shortly after hire
Willingness to complete required health and safety training for child care professionals
Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and child abuse registry check
Ability to actively engage with young children, including sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to approximately 40 pounds
Salary Description $20.00-$24.00 / hour
