Required Experience and Qualifications
H.S Diploma/GED
New York State Teacher Assistant Certification is required

Compensation
Amber Charter Schools strictly follow a salary schedule for each role to ensure our continued commitment towards pay equity. The expected salary range for this role is $33,606 - $57,376, depending on verified relevant work experience, highest level of completed education, and required certifications and/or licenses for the role. This is an exempt position.

Collaborate with teachers across the Humanities department to execute on interdisciplinary initiatives and competency/standard alignment;
Be receptive to receiving vertical and lateral feedback from colleagues as well as managers, and participate in the formal 360 review process.
Teachers' hours will be 8:15-4:30 daily, with the student academic day running from 9:00-1:30 on Wednesdays, and 9:00-4:30 on other days. Teachers may elect to lead an after-school extra-curricular club or coach a sport for an additional stipend. In the summer of the upcoming school year new teacher PD will begin around July 25th, and the school year will begin in late August.

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the on-site Education Director, the Teacher at Little Star Early Childhood Center will be responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child enrolled in our Early Childhood Center facilities. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Help maintain facility in a safe and satisfactory condition.
Provide day-to-day supervision and support to teacher assistants, teacher aides, substitutes, and volunteers, which include sharing daily program plans and discussing goals for children.
Assist the on-site Education Director in providing orientation and training for new staff, substitutes and volunteers.
Work with classroom staff to plan and implement the daily program of activities based on principles of child development and in accordance with the program's curriculum.
Set up and maintain a well-organized, safe, and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children.
Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self- esteem and self-discipline.
Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth.
Establish a positive relationship with each child's family and share information about the child's day at the Center.
Help parents to understand the curriculum and find ways to involve parents in the daily program.
Conduct individual parent conferences at least three times a year to discuss each child's growth and development.
Keep abreast of current knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Education.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor's degree in a related field with 15 credits in Early Childhood Education required.
Master's in Early Childhood preferred.
New York State Teaching Certification in Nursery - 6, K - 6, Birth - 2 or Special Education attained or in process.
Preferred working experience with young children ages 1-5.
Knowledge of the Quality Stars, CLASS, and Creative Curriculum preferred
