About the Role
The Before and After School Teacher is a vital part of our school community, carrying out many of the duties necessary for the day-to-day operations of the campus. This position will supervise Middle and High School students in indoor and outdoor settings, tutoring, and homework help. THE ROLE
As an Instructional Aide, you will support one student with diverse learning needs in a full inclusion setting. Provide Academic Support: Assist students with disabilities in accessing curriculum materials, understanding concepts, and completing assignments in various subject areas.
Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with special education teachers to implement strategies and accommodations outlined in students' IEPs, ensuring their educational goals are met (i.e. provide 1:1 support to student in classroom, support student(s) with toileting needs, assist with health-related needs (g-tube, feeding, administration of medication) (under supervision of school nurse) and assist with the physical needs of students (lifting/ assisting with mobility, implementing student stretching/exercise routines).
Facilitate Inclusive Learning: Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected, promoting opportunities for peer interactions and collaboration.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is for a Teacher's Assistant full-time position (35h a week) in our Early Childhood Education Center also known as the Preschool/Maternelle (Grade PK2-PK4), for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year.
Teacher's Assistant is responsible for assisting the Preschool French and English Teachers in managing and caring for the well-being of students in the classroom, in the bathroom and on the playground within the context of implementing a program of activities that promote the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of each child enrolled in the program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist French and/or English Teacher(s) and collaborate closely with them in implementing the daily program of activities based on best practices and researched principles of child development and in accordance with the program's curriculum, social-emotional learning program (Positive Discipline) and school culture.
Actively supervise students during class time, bathroom time (including but not limited to toileting and diaper changing), lunch time, transition times and during recess times. Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of autonomy, self-esteem, and self-discipline.
Assisting with diaper changes and toilet training as needed.
Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests, and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth.
Maintain a well-organized, safe and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children (including maintaining classroom cleanliness and keeping materials clean, neat, and arranged)

Assist in filing and organizing paper work in corresponding binders (lesson plan, maintenance, go- to…)
Participate in CST and Parent Consultation meetings with other CAPC staff and families.
Assist with the completion and follow up of attendance support plans.
Use agency electronic databases to document child progress and other information.
Respond to emails and voicemails in a timely manner.
Build and maintain working relationships
Participate in case conference meetings with teaching team and support staff to facilitate information sharing, goal setting, and action plans for each child.
Participate in staff development trainings and professional development opportunities.
Assist in providing supervision, guidance, and trainings to Center Aides and Parent Volunteers on a daily basis and as needed.
Participate in weekly team meetings with teaching team.
Network with other community agencies and participate when requested, in community events, health fairs, and other events designed to promote CAPC programs.
Document and report inappropriate behavior of staff, parents, and on-site consultants to the appropriate supervisor.
Assist Center Manager and Teacher in developing Family Partnership Agreements and Family Strengths Assessments.
Assist in the daily communication with families on family goals to support in meeting family needs.
Perform other duties both program specific and CAPC related, as assigned. Refer to the Master Task List.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Twelve units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) or CDA credential or AA degree in ECE or related field.
A valid Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or receipt of application is required within 60 days of hire.
Three Infant/Toddler units are required if working with children birth to three; six units of Infant/ Toddler Development units is preferred.
Infant/Toddler Staff: will require 16 hours of Preventative Health and Safety; Must be completed within hire.
Experience: Two years of relevant experience teaching/working with children (ages 0 to 5) and families
