Assistant Position Summary:
The Assistant Teacher is responsible for participating as part of a cohesive teaching team, assisting the Lead Teacher in coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Assistant Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Assistant Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively participate on the teaching team, and support the Lead Teacher to resolve parent/guardian concerns. The Assistant Teacher will assume the duties and responsibilities if the Lead Teacher is off on leave.
Staff may be required to administer medication or be trained to do so by an RN nurse through the PFA program.
This position will work in collaboration with the Lead Teacher, and Multi-Site Coordinators to ensure standards set by the Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC), the Environmental Health Authority, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Preschool Promise (PSP) and Preschool For All (PFA) are met and maintained.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year experience working in a Certified Childcare Center with students ages 3-5 years old - will be verified.
Previous experience teaching in a setting that focuses on inclusion and supporting students with individual needs ranging from low-support to high-support needs.
Must be at least 18 years of age

Must meet the following criteria:
(A) At least 750 hours of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Child Care Center, or comparable group care program in the appropriate age level or;
(B) One year or 1,500 hours of qualifying teaching experience in Registered Family or Certified Family childcare or;
(C) Documentation of attaining at least step 6 in the Oregon Registry; OR 9 quarter credits in two CKCs (3 must be in HGD or UGB) or;
(D) A minimum of an associate's degree from a college or university with a major in: Early childhood education; Child development; Special education; Elementary education; Human development; Child and family studies or;
(E) A state or nationally recognized credential, e.g. Child Development Associate (CDA).
Travel:

North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. What Your Days Will be Like:
As a Caregiver within our Care for Business team, you will have the opportunity to care for children of multiple families in your area! The incumbent must possess a normal degree of flexibility; the ability to stand, walk, run, and shuffle for long periods of time; to kneel on one and two knees and then stand up; to bend the trunk at 45ยบ and twist to either side; to grasp firmly; to raise the hands above the head; and to learn and correctly demonstrate multi-step physical skills. The incumbent must be able to observe multiple students across large and small physical spaces and attend to individual student's needs while ensuring that other students are not unattended. The incumbent will need to walk quickly at times, and assume various physical postures associated with instruction and caring for students, including:
* Running
* Pushing and pulling
* Toileting
* Feeding
* Restraining a student
* Lifting up to 75 lbs.
* Bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching
* Speaking and hearing often in a noisy environment
Potential exposures include but are not limited to: blood-borne pathogens; aggressive behavior from students; cold and hot temperatures; and inclement and severe weather. The environment includes working with students who have unique needs. Some students require significant physical assistance, others may demonstrate hostile and violent behaviors. Travel to multiple sites may be required. Occasional attendance at meetings or activities outside of the normal worksite may be required.

Program Description
C.A.R.E is a recreational daycare and enrichment program operated by Chehalem Park and Recreation District.
Our C.A.R.E. program operates a before and after school daycare program at each of our local grade schools as well as a Pre-K aged Daycare at our local Community Center. We work to ensure that all students have the opportunity and support to develop to their fullest potential and share a personal and meaningful bonds with people in the school community. We offer a range of self- directed and group activities including supervised free play, sports, organized games, arts, crafts, quiet time and help with homework.
Position Description
Care Leaders are responsible for developing a cohesive child care team, maintaining the wellbeing and safety of children in our program, and managing the day-to-day operational activities within the classroom. Care Leaders must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. Care Leader must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide coworkers, and resolve parental concerns.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
posses high energy and the ability to work well with others.
Applicants must clear a full background check and must pass a health screening.

Wage Range: Min wage to $16 an hour depending on experience and availability.
