Supervise students during recess by monitoring the safety of activities and notify teachers and/or building administrators of any potential problems or injuries. Supervise students during lunch with seating, behavior and dismissal and assist lunch staff with distribution of food or as necessary to serve students. Assist with basic student health concerns and general medicine distribution. Assist classroom teachers in preparing materials for instruction. Respects confidentiality of student records. Conform to expectations within the negotiated agreement for Paraeducators Assist in providing a positive, healthy environment of appropriate early childhood experiences for each child. Supervise and assist the preschool class during outdoor time, preschool bus times Other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 175 contract days Salary and calendar year to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy of the Iowa City Community School District. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District's policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
