The Teacher plays a vital role in furthering the mission of Calvary Christian Academy. Scope:
This position guides students in classroom activities that will motivate them to reach their learning potential. The teacher will use various methods to interact with students, other faculty, parents, and staff at both Calvary Christian Academy and Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale.
Specific Responsibilities:
Model Christ in word and deed.
Write biblically integrated lesson plans for all classes on a weekly basis according to Calvary Christian Academy guidelines that further our Christian mission of making disciples and will help students grow academically and in their knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Establish and maintain communication with parents as specified by administrative policy.
Read Calvary Christian Academy email/staff communications to remain informed and respond if requested to do so. This should be done upon arrival, midday, and before departure.
Be available for student questions, concerns, ministry, and counsel during lunch hours, before school, after school, or in between classes.
Attend staff devotions one day per week.
Attend Calvary Christian Academy staff meetings.
Attend Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale staff meetings.
Participate in scheduled grade-level team meetings.
Attend/participate in: Back to School Night, and other School events that promote relationship-building with students, parents, and colleagues.
Participates in the accreditation process for the school's continuous improvement plan.
Participates in professional development to stay current in their field.
Adhere to specified professional dress.
Attend and participate in designated Chapels.
Open each class with prayer.
Give specific praise and encouragement.
Decorate classroom bulletin boards seasonally, scripturally, and quarterly.
Establish and maintain accurate records on each student.
Prepare interims.
Prepare report cards and ongoing grade record-keeping on NetClassroom.
Integrate school-wide theme scriptures into the classroom to help further the mission of CCA.
Teach through the Biblical Integration method.
Discipline with love and establish incentives for improving behavior.
Provide remediation or enrichment for students as necessary.
Observe and assess the ability of each student.
Know the student dress code in order to ensure students comply with the standards
Compile and maintain an up-to-date subfolder
Secure classrooms for use by Children's Ministry and other ministries.
All teachers are responsible for erasing their whiteboards at the end of each teaching day (good stewardship element)
Must be able to lift 40 lbs

EARLY HEAD START CREDENTIALED CHILDCARETEACHER ASSOCIATE -
FULL-TIME (ages Infant-Toddler up to 3)

When: Daytime, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week, schedule anywhere from 7:30am to 5:30pm (staggered shifts), totaling 8 hours per day, year round
New Rate of Pay: $16.89 per hour
***FCCPC Birth - Five certification, or CDA certification in Infant-Toddler, Staff Verification Birth-Five required
Responsible for planning and implementing daily learning activities, nurturing the children and managing and maintaining the Early Head Start classroom and its equipment and supplies, establishes and maintains supportive relationships with infants, toddlers, and parents and implementing developmentally appropriate routines and curriculum for infants and toddlers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.
Plan and implement individualized, developmentally appropriate, nurturing care for infants and toddlers in a center-based setting
Coordinate use of community resources to enrich the learning environment
Support program philosophy that parents are the primary educators and nurturers of their children
Enhance the relationship of parents and their children by encouraging parent participation
Oversee and assist with classroom cleanup and follow universal precautions daily
Assist children in transitioning beginning and end of each day and during field trips
Maintain program standards regarding confidentiality and professional boundaries
Schedule:

Requirements
FCCPC Birth - Five or CDA certification in Infant-Toddler required
DCF 45 hr. training certificates required; High School diploma or GED required, Red Cross First Aid & CPR certificate; certificate of good health and completed TB test required; minimum 1 year in childcare services; 15 hours in-service training annually thereafter; requires fingerprints, level 2 criminal background check, and drug test
Experience:

Van Driver - Assistant Teacher

General Statement of Responsibilities:
The Teacher Assistant who is also a Van Driver is responsible for the safe transport of the children to and from school and for ensuring that the van is in compliance with safety requirements.
Under the supervision of the Regional Director/Principal, Educational Supervisor and Classroom Teacher, the Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting the teacher in the overall supervision of the classroom and ensuring the health and safety of all children in attendance.
The Teacher Assistant is actively involved in ALL aspects of the program including but not limited to direct interaction with the children, families and staff of The Arc of South Florida.
The Teacher Assistant is responsible for keeping the site clean and organized, assisting with record keeping and evaluation of children and carrying out other duties as requested by supervisors.
Minimum School and Training Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalency. CDA or FCCPC preferred.
First Aid / Infant/child CPR within the required time frame of the specific program.
Maintain ongoing professional development training according to program design.
Must have a clean driving record.
Must have a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
Specific Duties - including but not limited to:
A. Interactions with children:
Initiate interactions with children.
Lead small groups.
Participate in all aspects of care of children including diapering, feeding and positioning.
Incorporate therapy recommendations into daily routine under supervision of teacher.
Use developmentally appropriate practices.
Assist teacher in implementing curriculum through school program curricula.
Assist teacher in implementing the Family Support Plan or Education Plan. Page 2 of 4
B. Van Responsibilities:
Transport children to and from school safely and punctually.
Do “the sweep” to check for all children at the end of each ride. Utilize the “No Child Left Behind” System.
Follow all established procedures including Birth-Two Standards Transportation Policies and any additional Agency, Project Thrive or ACE Academy policies.
Complete all required paperwork including Child Sign-In/Sign-Out Sheets mileage, gas receipts, and repair receipts.
Utilize technology appropriately as relates to transportation.
Comply with all safe driving operations and rules and understand that GPS monitoring can track all driving behaviors and locations.
Ensure the van is in compliance with all safety inspections and emissions requirements and cooperate with Van Coordinator regarding insurance and registration regulations.
Maintain cleanliness of van at all times.
Maintain a clean driving record.
Ensure van is only used for agency transportation purposes.
C. Policies and Procedures

Safety:
Follow all Agency safety and security policies and procedures
Report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to the Principal or assignee.
Ensure that personal appearance is professional and clean, following the dress code of the Children and Youth Department and wear the uniform of the program as requested.
Speak with others using clear and professional language.
Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
Maintain child/student confidentiality.
Maintain Agency confidentiality.
Protect Agency assets.
D. Interactions with families:
Maintain positive interactions with families at all times.
Attend occasional parent education and support activities (Open House).
Follow agency guidelines regarding technology and social media.
E. Interaction with staff
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
Cooperate with teachers, supervisors and support staff.
Follow therapists' recommendations for best practices in positioning and implementation of the therapeutic activities in the classroom under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

Provide observations and suggestions to supervisors.
F. Cleaning and Organizing:
Clean all areas of school as required throughout the day and after the children leave using safe and effective methods.
Maintain organization of school by filing paperwork, storing equipment and organizing supplies.
Maintain a hazard free environment.
G. Training:
Complete initial orientation provided by program.
Participate in on-going, in-service trainings.
Complete 45-hour and 10-hour training required by the Department of Children and Families of all childcare workers if required by program.
H. Other:
Participate in fund-raising activities and agency events throughout the year.
Present a positive image of The Arc of South Florida to the community.
Attend community meetings needed for contract compliance and by Department Director's directive.
Perform other related and additional duties as needed.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
Must have TB Tine test if needed for specific program.
Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
Must be able to bend, squat, and sit on the floor.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds with assistance.
Must be able to stay alert and focused at all times to ensure the safety of ALL the children and be ready to react in any situation.
Salary Range: based on education, prior experience, and knowledge.
