Position Description Position: Child Care Worker Part-Time (16 to 24 hours per week) SCAN's Children Emergency Shelter provides 24-hour care for children zero to seventeen that are under custody of CPS due to abuse and or neglect. The Shelter provides a nurturing, home-like, safe environment family where children can thrive. The position requires the Child Care Worker to provide direct care to the children. The applicant must agree to work on rotating shifts (7am to 3pm; 3pm to 11 pm and 11pm to 7am). Applicants must be patient, nurturing individuals who are willing to work with children of all ages. The Shelter is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be bilingual (Fluent in Spanish and English).
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and a good driving record.
• Position requires the availability to work any assigned shift including weekends.
• 1 year work experience working with youth is preferred.
