QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications for Teacher certified in Visual Impairment (TVI):
· 1 year of verifiable, professional experience as Teacher certified in Visual Impairment (TVI) within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum)
· Valid Teacher certified in Visual Impairment (TVI) credential/license or in process in state of practice

DESCRIPTION:
The Early Head Start Lead Teacher implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum for a group of infants and toddlers (birth to three-years old) in an Early Head Start classroom, and provides caring and quality early childhood experiences.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Prioritize and adhere to Active Safety and Supervision procedures and policies
* Provide daily routine care for infants and toddlers including diapering, feeding, and safe sleep practices
* Develop and implement lesson plans based on established Early Head Start curriculum
* Responsible for directing and leading the classroom team
* Complete parent-teacher conferences and required home visits
This is a classified position reporting to the Education Site Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Infant & Toddler CDA (Child Development Associate) credential, OR Initial Early Childhood Certificate
* Two years of paid work experience in an infant/toddler classroom

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in a classroom setting, and onsite/in-person. Must be able to climb stairs and walk over uneven surfaces, walk or run quickly, kneel or sit on the floor, lift approximately 40 pounds (on an emergency, as-needed basis), sit in a child s sized chair, and move quickly from multiple positions and levels. Excellent communication skills are essential. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English and will include communication with people for whom English is not their first language. This also includes the ability to produce clearly written documents. Those who are multilingual are strongly encouraged to apply.
WORK SCHEDULE:
40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
COMPENSATION:
Salary range 42. Beginning salary is $3,910 monthly, with progressive increases to $5,117 monthly, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, 3 personal leave days, and 14 vacation days per year (incremental increases to 24 vacation days per year).

Today, Denise Louie serves nearly 950 children and families with preschool, home visiting, and socialization groups--all of which are offered at no cost.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Classroom Aide to join our team. Classroom Aides support Lead Teachers and Teaching Assistants to provide a high quality, multicultural, inclusive educational experience to prepare all children and families for life and school.
Essential Functions:
Assist the teaching team in maintaining a healthy, safe, and warm classroom environment through effective supervision, developmentally appropriate practices that allows learning through curiosity, experimentation, play and implementation of individualized plans.
Assist the teaching team in delivering weekly lesson plans by preparing materials, organizing supplies, and helping keep children on task.
Assist teaching team in completion of Teaching Strategies Gold observations and checkpoint data to assess child growth and development.
Engage in warm, caring interactions and fun, imaginative play with children.
Provide support for children's behavior with evidence-based strategies.
Assist with general maintenance, organization, and security of the facility.
Qualifications:
Must meet one of the following education qualifications:
Preschool (3-5 years) Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Experience working with children ages 5 and under.
Able to communicate in English verbally and in writing.
Bilingual in a language spoken by DLEC parents (Spanish, Amharic, Cantonese, and Vietnamese) preferred.
Pay Range: $20.98 - $25.57 hourly
